He and his wife Jemima lived in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts, after their marriage, moved to Salem (now Danvers) by 1742, then to Topsfield by 1771.2 His will was dated 4 November 1775 and proved on 5 March 1781. His estate included his homestead of 90 acres in Topsfield, 8 1/8 acres of woodland in Boxford, and 4 acres of salt marsh in Ipswich.2
He and Jemima had the following known children: Benjamin (b 30 October 1738, d 1 May 1772), Nathaniel (b 1 March 1740/41, d 9 April 1815), Tabitha (b 1744, d 22 October 1823), Samuel (b 1748, d 15 April 1826), Jemima (b 1749, d 2 March 1795), Sarah.3
