In 1623 Jeremy Gould was taxed on property in Halton and Weston Turville, Buckingham, England.1 He emigrated to Massachusetts sometime before 1 October 1639.1 On that date he mortgaged a house, lot, and meadow in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Joseph Holloway, from whom he had recently bought the property, for £20. This is probably the same property he later sold to James Parker, and that Parker sold to Jeremy's brother Zaccheus Gould on 26 November 1644.1
According to family tradition, sometime after 1639 he went back to England, and returned to Weymouth with his wife and family.1 In 1641 William Coddington of Newport, Rhode Island, appointed him as his attorney (i.e., representative) in Massachusetts.1 Soon afterwards, he moved to Middletown, Rhode Island.1 After his wife's death, again according to family tradition, he returned to England.1

Her will was dated 6 May 1650 and proved on 3 September 1650. At the time she was described as being of Watford, co. Hertford. Her son Abel and daughters Lydia and Elizabeth were named as executors. She left: £400 to her son Abel, plus the contents of a box at her cousin Gase's house; £300 each to her daughters Lydia and Elizabeth; £40 to her granddaughters Hannah and Elizabeth, daughters of her daughter Hannah; £60 to her son-in-law George Younge, in effect, by forgiving all but £40 of a £100 debt; £40 to the children of her son Nathan; and £60 to the children of her daughter Sarah if her (Judith's) son Nathan had not divided the goods left to him by her son Zacheus equally between him and Sarah, otherwise this £100 [sic] was to be divided equally beytween their children. If her son Abel were to die before coming of age, his £400 was to be given instead as follows: £300 divided equally between her daughters Lydia and Elizabeth, £50 to her daughter Hannah, £20 to her daughter Marie, and £30 to be divided between the children of her son Nathan and daughter Sarah. If the Parliament were to repay money that she had loaned them, £100 was to go to her son Abel, £40 to her daughter Marie, and the rest to her daughters Hannah, Lydia, and Elizabeth. She also left £5 to the minister of Watford. Whatever remained was to go to her son Abel and daughters Lydia and Elizabeth.1

She and her husband Benjamin were admitted to the church in Reading, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, on 19 April 1716.2 They moved to Killingly, Windham Co., Connecticut, about 1717.2 They were dismissed from the church in Reading on 20 October 1717, and admitted to the church in Killingly on 26 January 1717/18.2 They settled in an area called Brandy Hill, and built a house there, on the east side of Boston Rd., in 1719. Their house was described as the "last out-post of civilization on the road from Connecticut, and was much frequented by travelers, Indians, and lawless borderers."2
Ellen Larned, in the History of Windham County, says that "On one occasion, Mrs. Bixby, when alone, refused to give liquor to a drunken savage, whereupon he shot her in the thigh, wounding her severely." On 3 October 1720 Connecticut's Governor Saltonstall ordered that whatever portion of her attacker's property the government held was to be sent to her family. The Indians in the area also paid the family £17. Not long after this incident she was struck by lightning. Gov. Saltonstall expressed his sympathies, and her husband Benjamin responded, stating that she was not well, and wouldn't recover fully for at least a year, if at all. She did recover, however.2
