Although they were married in Oakland Co., Michigan, she and her husband Lewis soon returned to his home in Nebraska, where their son Alfred was born in March 1885.2,3 She and Lewis had three known children, Alfred (b March 1885), Frank L. (b 9 September 1886, d 1 October 1886) and Mattie (b abt 1892).2,3,4,5,6

She and her first husband Willard moved to Oregon sometime between 1885, when their daughter Nellie was born in Michigan, and 19002, when they are listed in the census in Luckiamute Prec., Polk Co., Oregon.2 They were living in Monmouth, Polk Co., Oregon, in 19103,1 and in Pedee Prec., Polk Co., Oregon, in 1920.4 They may have been running a boarding house in 1920, as they had five boarders living with them, and in the census her occupation was listed as cook for a boarding house.4
She and her second husband William were living in Monmouth in 1930.9
She and her first husband Willard had the following known children: Ruth Inez (b 26 April 1882, d 4 June 1882), Charles Robert (b 18 July 1883, d 29 November 1958), Nellie Ann (b 9 April 1885, d 24 June 1956).1,10,11,12

In the 1880 census, Barlow E. Phillips was listed with his mother's parents L. W. and Jane Hildreth, neighbors to his own parents, in Chester, Eaton Co., Michigan.5
He and his wife Nettie lived in Chester Twp., Eaton Co., Michigan, probably all their married lives.6,7,8,9 He was a farmer6,7,8, and in 1910 a hired man, Theodore Bauer, was living with them.7

After their marriage, she and her husband Frank lived for a time with her parents in Benton, Eaton Co., Michigan.1 In 1910 they were living in Marshall Twp., Calhoun Co., Michigan.5 They moved to Battle Creek, Calhoun Co., and were living at 23 Newark Ave. in 1920.6 In 1930, after her husband's death, she was living at 62 Jay St. South in Battle Creek.2
She and Frank had the following known children: twins Eva B. (b January 1900, d abt 31 July 1965) and Evah E. (b January 1900, d 16 July 1968), Carroll DeWitt (b 1902, d May 1949), Hildreth Heistand (b 23 July 1908, d 11 May 1984), Viola Lucia (b 23 April 1911, d 21 January 2007).1,6,7,8,9,10,11,12

She was a schoolteacher at the time of her marriage to Clyde Phillips in 1905.2 She and her second husband Clyde were living in Stanton, Montcalm Co., Michigan, in 1910.9
