     John Case was born on 12 May 1724 in Little Compton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He married as his third wife Rachel Tripp, daughter of Caleb Tripp and Elizabeth Soule, intentions published on 17 September 1744 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He died before 6 May 1788, when his will was proved.1
     He had been married twice previously, to Anne Hicks (intentions published 23 August 1755 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts) and to Rachel Allen (intentions published 15 July 1757 in Dartmouth).1
     In his will, proved on 6 May 1788, he mentioned his wife Rachel and 13 children. A dower was ordered to be reserved in March 1791, and the estate was declared insolvent on 1 May 1792.1
     He had eight children with his second wife Rachel Allen1, and five (Allen, Daniel, Alice, Mary, Caleb) with his third wife Rachel Tripp.1
