     Joseph Soule was born on 16 February 1710/11 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He married first Mary Davis, daughter of Benjamin Davis and Eleanor (?), on 8 April 1736 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He married second Dinah Tripp, daughter of Joseph Tripp and Elizabeth Smith, on 13 July 1758 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He died before 7 May 1793, when his will was proved, in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1
     His will was dated "28 1mo 'Jan.' 1792" in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, and proved on 7 May 1793. In it he names his son Lemuel and grandchildren Gabriel Hix, Joseph Sowle, and Mary Sowle.1

     Gabriel Hicks was born on 24 September 1759.1 He married Elizabeth Cory on 18 October 1788 in Tiverton, Newport Co., Rhode Island.1 He probably died on 14 September 1846 in Tiverton, Newport Co., Rhode Island, at age 86.1
     On 1 May 1764, after the death of his father Thomas, his grandfather Gabriel Hix was appointed as his guardian.1 They were living together in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, during the American Revolution.1
     He and his wife Elizabeth lived in Tiverton, Newport Co., Rhode Island.1 On 26 March 1792 they sold the farm in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, that he had received from his grandfather Gabriel.1
     He and Elizabeth had the following known children: Hannah (b 1791), Comfort Corey (b 1794), Thomas Jefferson (b 1798).1

     Jacob Soule was born about 1687 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., New Plymouth Colony.1 He married Rebecca Gifford on 22 January 1709/10 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He died in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, between 12 August 1747 when his will was made, and 3 May 1748 when it was proved.1
     He and his wife Rebecca lived in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, in the area that became Westport in 1787.1
     His will was dated 12 August 1747 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, and proved on 3 May 1748. In it he named his sons Stephen, Joseph, Nathaniel, and Benjamin, daughters Elizabeth Tripp and Rosemond Potter, and grandchildren Phebe and Jeremiah Wait.1

     Elizabeth Soule was born on 14 November 1712 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 She married Caleb Tripp, son of Ebenezer Tripp and Abigail Cudworth, about 1735 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 She died after 1781, when her husband's will was proved, probably in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2

     In addition to the children listed here, Elizabeth apparently had a child out of wedlock about 1730/31. A complaint was made at the Dartmouth Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends on "19 8mo 1730" that Jacob Soule's daughter was pregnant by George Soule, son of Nathan Soule.3

     Rebecca Soule was born on 18 December 1715 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 She married Reuben Waite, son of Thomas Waite and Mary Tripp, about 1736.2 She died before 7 March 1744/45 (when her husband remarried) in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2

     Nathaniel Soule was born on 23 January 1717/18 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 He married Jane Potter, daughter of William Potter and Mary Fish, on 22 November 1739.2 He died on 20 November 1769 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, at age 51.2
     His will was dated 9 December 1763 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, and proved on 25 December 1769. It names his wife Jone and children Isaac, Ruth, and Rebecca.2

     Benjamin Soule was born on 18 November 1719 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 He married Meribah Waite, daughter of Thomas Waite and Mary Tripp, intentions published on 26 November 1742 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 He died on 31 January 1803 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, at age 83.2 He was buried on the Joseph Soule farm in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2
     His will was dated 20 February 1792 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, and proved on 3 May 1803. In it he mentions his wife Meribah, daughter Martha Kirby, deceased daughter Patience Kirby and her children, and son-in-law Benjamin Davol who was named executor.2

     Stephen Soule was born on 1 January 1726/27 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 He married Sarah Potter, daughter of William Potter and Mary Fish, on 10 February 1745/46 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.2 He died in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, between 15 December 1788, when he made his will, and 5 May 1789, when it was proved.2
     His will was dated 15 December 1788 and proved on 5 May 1789. It names his wife Sarah, sons Jacob, Oliver, and Benjamin, and daughter Phebe Church.2

     Caleb Tripp was born on 5 August 1714 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He married Elizabeth Soule, daughter of Jacob Soule and Rebecca Gifford, about 1735 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.1 He died on 11 March 1780 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, at age 65.1
     His will was dated 4 February 1775 ("4 2mo 'called Feb.' 1775") and proved on 2 January 1781. In it he mentioned his wife Elizabeth, sons Joshua and Daniel, who was named executor, daughter Rachel Case, and grandsons Caleb, Jacob, and Willkason, sons of Joshua.1
