He and Henry Cobb, Jr., moved together from Barnstable, Massachusetts, to Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut, about 1707 (based on the birth dates and places of Samuel's children).1,4 In 1708 he joined the First Church in Stonington.1,4 In 1717 he and Henry Cobb, Jr., divided a tract of land in Stonington that they had purchased together when they moved there. He took the portion on Hinckley Hill, near the Pawcatuck River, and Henry took the portion on both sides of the road from Wequetequock to the Pawcatuck Bridge.1,4
