She graduated from the Kalamazoo training school for teachers2, and before her marriage taught for several years in the Vine and Frank street schools.2 She apparently gave up teaching after her marriage, however, as no occupation is listed for her in the 1910-1940 censuses.5,6,7,8
She and her husband Walter lived most of their lives, if not all, in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan. They were both living there at the time of their marriage in 1900, and they are listed there together in the censuses from 1910 to 1930. They were next door to Walter's parents in 1910, and to his mother in 1920. In 1930 they had a boarder, Elizabeth Marks.1,5,6,7
She continued living in Kalamazoo after her husband's death, and is listed there in the 1940 census, still with Elizabeth Marks as a boarder.8

At times he used the spelling "Cooke" for his surname.4,3
He lived for a time in Barberton, Summit Co., Ohio, where he is listed as a boarder in the household of Mathias Hublinger in the 1900 census, and where he and his widowed mother are listed together in the 1910 census.5,6 In 1918, when he registered for the World War I draft, he and his mother were living in Buffalo, Erie Co., New York.4 He is also listed there in the 1920 census, without his mother, living with Charles E. Urey and his wife Clara in Springfield Twp., Mercer Co., Pennsylvania, in the 1930 census.8 He is apparently listed twice in the 1940 census. There's a Henry Cook, age 66 born in Pennsylvania, living as a lodger with Earl and Laura Teaby in Wolf Creek Twp., Mercer Co., and a Henry H. Cook, also age 66 born in Pennsylvania, living as a resident of the Mercer County Home & Hospital in Coolspring Twp., Mercer Co.9,10
