She graduated in 1939 from Crown Point High School.4 At some point after their marriage she and her husband Elmer moved from Crown Point to a dairy farm in Twin Lakes, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin,5 then back to Crown Point in 1961 where they lived until Elmer's death in 2008.4 She then moved to Schererville, Lake Co., Indiana, where she lived with her daughter Sue's family.4

He served in the U.S. Army just after World War II, enlisting on 17 July 1946 at age 18, and was discharged on 22 April 1949.5 After his discharge he worked as a laborer in the steel industry.3 At the time of his death his residence was Lake Village, Newton Co., Indiana.3

She is listed in the obituaries of both Edward Nicholls and his wife Jessie as their daughter, but she is not listed with them in the 1940 census, when she would have been about six.3,2,7
She graduated from Hebron High School in Hebron, Porter Co., Indiana, and began working as a police department operator in Gary, Lake Co., Indiana. She later worked for several years as an EMT with Steinke Ambulance Service in Rensselaer, Jasper Co., Indiana, then was a nurse's aide for over 40 years at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer before retiring in 2010.1

At some point after their marriage he and his wife Hazel moved from Crown Point to a dairy farm in Twin Lakes, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin,4 then back to Crown Point in 1961 where they lived until Elmer's death in 2008.3
