     Frederick Channing Bowditch was born on 24 June 1854 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.² He married Elizabeth Thompson Forster, daughter of Edward Jacob Forster and Anita Damon Lyon, on 20 January 1897 in Milton, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.² He died on 7 October 1925 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 71.²
     He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and from Harvard Law School, both in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.² He was President of the Conveyancers Title Insurance Company in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.²

     Susan Higginson Bowditch was born on 24 October 1857 (the Bowditch genealogy by Harold Bowditch says 10 October 1857) at Linden Place in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.^1,3 She married Harry Vinton Long, son of George Washington Long and Mary Elizabeth Nash, on 17 November 1880 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.⁴ She died on 15 April 1935 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 77.⁵ She was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery (Tulip Path, Lot 1208, Grave GUS) in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.⁶
     She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, then in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, for one year, from 1876 to 1877.^7,8,9
     She and her husband Harry are listed with their children and three servants in the 1900 and 1910 censuses at 249 Tappan St. in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, next door to her parents' house.^10,11 By 1920 they had moved into Boston, and are listed there in the 1920 and 1930 censuses.^12,13

     Louisa Higginson Bowditch was born on 25 April 1860 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.² She married Dean Pierce, son of Jacob Willard Pierce and Mary Boardman Dean, on 31 October 1882 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.² She died on 4 April 1929 in Brookline, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 68.²

     Anna Parker Dixwell was born on 25 June 1847.¹ She died on 21 April 1885 in Paris, France, at age 37.¹

     Basil Dixwell was born on 1 September 1849.¹ He died on 25 November 1862 at age 13.¹

     Arthur Dixwell was born on 6 August 1853 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.^1,2 He died on 16 September 1924 at age 71 at the Copley Square Hotel in Boston, where he had lived the last 30 years of his life.^2,1 He was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.³
     His father died in 1876, leaving a trust fund that paid him $10,000 a year, and an extra $10,000 if he "maintained any sort of useful employment." He opened a furniture store, but that closed in 1884, then reopened as a seller of "Marks' Adjustable Chair," an early recliner, but that lasted just five years.³
     He then apparently gave up any business interests and became a full-time "crank" (old-fashioned slang for a baseball fan), and is now considered the most obsessed crank of all time. The National League was established in 1876, with the Boston Red Stockings (later the Boston Braves) as a charter member, and he was a huge fan, giving lavish gifts to his favorite players. He attended spring training, every home game, and away games in the eastern half of the U.S. He was known for his cry of "Hi! Hi!" after especially good plays, earning him the nickname "Hi! Hi! Dixwell."³ Fred Lieb, a baseball historian, once wrote "[t]here was a rather noisy but kindly Boston fan of the period named Arthur Dixwell. He was a bit balmy, but everyone liked him, and baseball was his outlet."⁴
     In 1890 the Boston team moved to the new Players League, established after a pay dispute between players and National League owners. Dixwell was chosen as a director of the league's team in Boston. The Players League lasted just one season, and the Boston team then joined the American Association. The American Association folded in 1891, and Boston went back to the National League. When the American League was established in 1901, with Boston as one of its eight charter members, he was selected as the shovel-bearer at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Huntington Avenue Grounds where the team would play.³
     But, after the American Association folded, things apparently weren't the same for Dixwell, and he began showing less interest in baseball. He turned to bowling, founding the Boston Bowling Club and serving as president. He was also an avid theater goer, attending some performances well over 100 times.³

     Caroline Curtis Dixwell was born on 5 March 1856.² She married George Henry Clements, son of Joseph B. Clements and Louise Toladano, on 3 October 1888.² She died on 27 July 1931 in New York, New York, at age 75.²

     Dudley Bowditch Fay was born on 31 January 1860 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.² He married Katherine Gray, daughter of William Gray and Katherine Cunningham, on 4 October 1882 in Dorchester, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.² He died on 7 February 1921 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 61.²
     He graduated in 1881 from Harvard University in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, with an A.B. degree.²

     William Bowditch Rogers was born on 14 September 1874 in Madeira, Portugal.² He married Augusta Kellogg, daughter of S. Alonzo Kellogg and Susan Averill, on 1 July 1896 in South Hero, Grand Isle Co., Vermont.²
     He graduated in 1896 from Harvard University in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, with an A.B. degree.² He worked in the wine business.²

     Nathaniel Ingersoll Bowditch was born on 15 July 1865 in Southboro, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.¹ He married Margaret Manning Choate, daughter of Charles Francis Choate and Elizabeth Waterman Carlile, on 12 June 1890 in Southboro, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.¹
     He was a broker, served as a trustee of the Massachusetts Agricultural College (now the University of Massachusetts) and of Framingham Hospital, and as Middlesex County Commissioner. He was also interested in agriculture, serving as president of the Middlesex County Aid to Agriculture and of the Massachusetts Society for Promoting Agriculture.¹

     Margaret Manning Choate was born on 18 November 1862 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.¹ She married Nathaniel Ingersoll Bowditch, son of Ebenezer Francis Bowditch and Elizabeth Fessenden Perry, on 12 June 1890 in Southboro, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.¹ She died on 14 April 1926 in Framingham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, at age 63.¹

     Annie Rodman Bowditch was born on 16 November 1871 in Framingham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.² She married first Robert Forbes Perkins, son of Charles Elliott Perkins and Edith Forbes, on 3 June 1891 in Framingham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.² She married second Bronson C. Rumsey in February 1910.²

     Ebenezer Francis Bowditch was born on 24 August 1874.¹ He died on 2 February 1875.¹

     Elizabeth Francis Bowditch was born on 9 August 1881.² She married first Manning Emery Jr., son of Manning Emery and Maria Haven Ladd, on 6 February 1909.² She married second Reginald William Bird, son of William Barnard Bird and Caroline May Crossman, on 9 June 1932 in Framingham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.²

     John Perry Bowditch was born on 23 April 1883 in Framingham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.² He married Alice Bradford, daughter of Moses B. L. Bradford and Florence Hoar, on 21 January 1911 in Concord, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.²
     He graduated in 1905 from Harvard University in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, with an A.B. degree.² He served during World War I with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, the Canadian Field Artillery and the Reserve Battery, and the Canadian Garrison Artillery.² He worked in the insurance business in New York City.²

     Elizabeth Bowditch Forbes was born on 27 April 1873.¹ She died on 30 April 1873.¹

     Allan Forbes was born on 20 November 1874 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.² He married Josephine May Ashton Crosby, daughter of Henry Ashton Crosby and Mary Leavitt, on 4 June 1913 in New York, New York.²
     He graduated with an A.B. degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, in 1897.² He was president of the State Street Trust Company in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.²

     Mary Bowditch Forbes was born on 23 May 1878.¹

     Dorothy Forbes was born on 24 April 1881.¹

     Ethel Bowditch was born on 29 January 1873 in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury (now Boston), Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.³ She married Henry Champion Jones, son of Ralph Kneeland Jones and Olivia Ann Yale Norris, on 30 March 1901 in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.^1,3 She died on 8 September 1945 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, at age 72.⁴ She was buried at Stockbridge Cemetery in Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts.⁵

     Fanny Bowditch was born on 19 May 1874 in Jamaica Plain, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.¹ She married Johan Rudolf Katz, son of Samuel Katz and Marie Geesink, on 20 October 1917.¹

     Johan Rudolf Katz was born on 30 April 1880 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.¹ He married Fanny Bowditch, daughter of Henry Pickering Bowditch and Selma Knauth, on 20 October 1917.¹
     He was a doctor, receiving his M.D. at the University of Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Netherlands.¹
