Landgrave Georg II (of Hesse-Darmstadt)

Landgrave Georg II (of Hesse-Darmstadt) was born on 17 March 1605 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.¹ He was the son of Landgrave Ludwig V 'The Faithful' (of Hesse-Darmstadt) and Magdalene Margravine (of Brandenburg).¹ Landgrave Georg II (of Hesse-Darmstadt) was christened on 21 April 1605 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.¹ He married Princess Sofie Eleonore (of Saxony) on 1 April 1627 at Schloss Zu Torgau, Sachsen, Prussia.¹ Landgrave Georg II (of Hesse-Darmstadt) died on 11 June 1661 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, at age 56.¹ He was buried at Stadtkirche, Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.¹
