     Timothy Root was born about 1681 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.¹ He was baptized at the parish church in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, on 17 May 1691.² He married Margaret Seymour on 20 March 1707.¹ He died in 1713 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.²
     He was a large man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall.¹ He lived in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.¹ He and Margaret had the following known children: Jonathan (b 20 December 1707, d 17 August 1794), Stephen (b 18 March 1711, d 5 September 1752), Timothy (b 1713, d 24 April 1746).²

     John Root was born in 1685 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.³ He was baptized at the parish church in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, on 17 May 1691.² He married Margaret Strong, daughter of John Strong, on 10 July 1716.¹ He died on 15 November 1764 (or 16 November), after suffering from inflammation of the lungs for three days.⁴
     He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and strongly built, with large shoulders and hands.¹ He moved to Kensington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, in 1707, where he was one of the first settlers. His deed was dated 1703. The area where he settled is now the town of Berlin, and at the time was called the Great Swamp. He cleared the land, built a barn in 1706 and a house in 1712.¹ He was prominent in the affairs of the church, and he collected for the minister's support in 1720. That same year he and two others were chosen to build a new church.¹
     He and Margaret had the following known children: Eunice (b 4 May 1718), Margaret (b 5 July 1720), John (b 21 March 1723, d 8 November 1781), Lois (b 27 January 1726, d 23 April 1804), Mary (b 11 September 1728), Sarah (b 11 October 1731, d 1819).¹

     Mary Roote was born about 1691.¹ She was baptized at the parish church in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, on 17 May 1691.¹ She married William Judd, son of Thomas Judd, on 21 January 1713.¹ She died on 10 December 1751.¹

     William Judd married Mary Roote, daughter of Stephen Roote and Sarah Wadsworth, on 21 January 1713.¹

     Sarah Roote was born on 17 December 1693.¹ She married Thomas Gridley on 5 December 1734.¹ She died about 1776.¹

     Thomas Gridley married Sarah Roote, daughter of Stephen Roote and Sarah Wadsworth, on 5 December 1734.¹

     She died unmarried.¹

     Elizabeth Warner married Joseph Root, son of John Roote and Mary Kilbourn, on 17 September 1691.¹
     She was of Middletown, Connecticut.¹ She and her husband Joseph joined the Congregational Church in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, on 17 April 1692.¹

     Ruth Porter married first Samuel Smith.¹ She married second Joseph Root, son of John Roote and Mary Kilbourn, on 3 May 1727.¹

     Elizabeth Root was born on 22 June 1692.¹ She died unmarried in 1777.¹

     Mary Root was born on 22 January 1694.¹ She married Jonathan Lee on 4 June 1713.¹ She died in 1760.¹

     Jonathan Lee married Mary Root, daughter of Joseph Root and Elizabeth Warner, on 4 June 1713.¹

     Joseph Root was born on 27 August 1699 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.² He married first Hannah Wadsworth on 23 September 1726.² He married second Dorothy (?) after 27 August 1741.² He died in 1751.¹
     He lived in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.² He and his first wife Hannah had the following known children, all born in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut: Mary (b 21 October 1727, d 1797), Felix (b 21 March 1730), Ezekial (b 1 February 1732, d 6 May 1735), Abigail (b 6 July 1734, d 17 November 1807), Joseph (b 2 April 1738, d 4 November 1783), twins Ezekial and Hannah (b 27 August 1741).²

     Elizabeth Salmon married Caleb Root, son of John Roote and Mary Kilbourn, on 9 August 1693 in Springfield, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts.^1,2
