He was a house carpenter.2 In 1720 his father deeded to him two acres of land, plus an island (in the Ipswich River?) containing two acres of upland and meadow.2 In 1739 his father gave the land that he had originally purchased from Jacob, William, and Samuel Towne in 1702/03 to him and his brothers Jacob and Joseph.2 On 3 May 1742 he and his brother Jacob sold 1/3 of their father's estate to their brother Joseph. He (John) had died by the time the deed was finalized on 26 Mar 1751.2,5
