She was also known by the nickname "Betsey."2 She may have married a man with the surname Edwards. The Charles A. Towne microfilm collection lists Betsey as a daughter of Alfred Town, and says she married a man named Edwards in Massachusetts. The Alfred Town family Bible record lists Eliza Ann as a daughter of Alfred Town, and since Betsey and Eliza are both nicknames for Elizabeth, it's reasonable to assume that the two sources refer to the same person. However, Betsey's name in the Charles A. Towne collection is followed by a question mark, possibly indicating uncertainty, and the Bible record notes that "Eliza Ann Town died June 27, 1826." Since she's listed with the surname Town in the Bible record, it seems likely that the listing in the Charles A. Towne collection is wrong.2,1

On 2 June 1829 she and her husband Joshua sold 142 acres of land in Bedford Co., Virginia, to William Marshall of Bedford Co. for $570.7
The inclusion of Mary and Sarah as children of Joshua Williamson and his first wife Anna Eubank is based on land transactions in which Joshua's heirs sold their rights to his land to other siblings in the first few years after his death. Thomas Eubanks and his wife Mary, and John Michael and his wife Sarah, quitclaimed their shares to Joshua's son Perry in March 1860. Since the names of Joshua's children from his second marriage are all known, Mary and Sarah are most likely children from his first marriage.8,9
