Jonathan Stiles lived on the east side of the road to Windsor Locks, just north of Bissell's Ferry Road in Windsor, Hartford Co., Connecticut. He was a prominent man, and a deacon in the church under Rev. Jonathan Marsh.2
On 3 September 1761 he was one of seven persons who formed a church state known as the "North," "7th," or "4th" Society of Windsor. This was a secession of those living north of the Farmington Rivulet. They chose Rev. Theodore Hinsdale as pastor, and Jonathan Stiles was Deacon.2 He and Sarah had the following known children: Sarah (b 27 July 1711), Jonathan (b 28 April 1722, d 1727), Jonathan (b 18 March 1725/26, d 8 September 1775).2
