His will was dated 24 May 1598 and proved on 17 April 1599. It mentions his sons Christopher of Thornage, Thomas of Ketteringham, and Roger of Norwich, and daughters Phillipa and Margaret.1

He immigrated to the United States in 1877 or 1878, and became a naturalized citizen in 1886.3,8,5,6 He and his first wife Jane lived in Emmett, Canyon Co. (now Gem Co.), Idaho.3,8 In 1920 he and his second wife Charity were living in Montour, Gem Co., Idaho, along with his son Clyde and Charity's son Hovey Evans.5
After he and Charity divorced, he moved into the home of Fannie Chisholm in Montour, and is listed there as a boarder in the 1930 census.6 They are listed in West Emmett Prec., Gem Co., Idaho, in the 1940 census, with Fannie as head and Robert as partner.9

He and his wife Maude were living in Emmett, Gem Co., Idaho, in 1920.7 When he registered for the World War I draft in 1918 he was working as a miner for the Gold Hill and Iowa Mines Co. in Quartzbury, Boise Co., Idaho,2 but in the 1920 census his occupation was listed as farmer.7 In 1942, when he registered for the World War II draft, he was unemployed.4

He and his wife Ruby lived in Ganges Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, from at least 1935 to 1942.3,2 He was then a farm laborer, working for Lee Stennett in 1942.2 They are listed in Montcalm, Montcalm Co., Michigan, in the 1950 census7, and he was then working as a painter in a refrigerator factory.7
