     She went by the nickname "Betsy."¹ She and her first husband Emanuel had four children.¹

     Emanuel Flory was born on 26 December 1800 in Somerset Co., Pennsylvania.¹ He married Elizabeth Kuns, daughter of John George Kuns Jr. and Elizabeth Cripe, on 30 May 1824 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.¹ He died on 15 November 1849 in Logansport, Cass Co., Indiana, at age 48.¹ He was buried at Bethel Cemetery in Cass Co., Indiana.¹
