     Roger Burlingame was born on 30 May 1678 in Mashantatack, Rhode Island.4 He married Sarah Eleanor Sweet, daughter of Jonathan Sweet and Sarah Adams, on 21 December 1699.4 He died suddenly of a stroke on 13 December 1765 at age 87, at his son Jonathan's home in Coventry, Kent Co., Rhode Island.4
     He was in the Coventry militia, taking part in Queen Anne's War, and was wounded when the British captured Port Royal in 1710. He was a lieutenant from 1716 to 1719, when he was made captain.4
     On 23 December 1712 he and his brother Thomas received part of the land in Mashantatack, Providence Co., Rhode Island, that had originally belonged to their father Roger Burlingham. The land had been given first to their brother Peter. When Peter died on 2 December 1712, John Burlingame, as the oldest surviving brother, acquired it. John kept the house and 50 acres, and divided the rest between his brothers Thomas and Roger, under the condition that they be equally responsible for providing for their parents, if that became necessary. Roger got the southeast part of the property.5
     He was one of the overseers of his father's will, dated 28 November 1715 and proved 13 September 18. He received 20s, and 50 acres of land.2,6
     On 4 June 1722 he deeded 20 acres of his father's original homestead in Mashantatack to his oldest son Josiah, who was living there at the time.4 On 15 September 1731 he sold the northern part of his portion of his father's homestead to his son William.4 On the same date he also sold part of the estate to his nephew Benjamin Burlingame.7
     On 11 March 1746 (11 March 1747 according to Jacox), he, along with his son William and William's wife Alice, deeded land in Mashantatack to James Sweet of Coventry, Rhode Island.4,8 He deeded 11 acres and 80 rods of land in Warwick, Providence Co., Rhode Island, to his son Jonathan on 5 May 1746.9

     Josiah Ichabod Burlingame Jr. was born on 3 June 1723 in Warwick, Providence Co., Rhode Island.1 He married Eunice Chandler, daughter of Joseph Chandler and Susanna Perrin, on 10 October 1748 in Pomfret, Windham Co., Connecticut.2 He died on 11 August 1774, after suffering from fits for several years, in East Greenwich, Kent Co., Rhode Island, at age 51.2
     He was a wheelwright.2 He served in Capt. Rice's Co. in the King George War, which occurred between 1744 and 1748.2 He lived for a time in Pomfret, Windham Co., Connecticut, where he and David Bucklin had gone to work.3 On 15 April 1751 he bought land in East Greenwich, Kent Co., Rhode Island.2 He and his wife Eunice then moved to East Greenwich, and lived on Main Street.3
     He was appointed administrator of his brother Roger Burlingame's estate on on 31 May 1755.1
     He and Eunice had the following known children: Caleb (b 21 June 1750), Chandler (b 30 March 1752, d September 1796), Susanna (b 19 July 1754).2

     She was appointed administrator of her husband's estate on 27 June 1778.1 In February 1779 she petitioned the General Assembly for the clothing that was due her husband at the time of his death, or it's value, for the support of her children. The agent clothier was ordered to pay her for the clothing that she did not receive.1
     Her will was dated 22 October 1804 in East Greenwich, Kent Co., Rhode Island. The executors were James Miller and Eunice Holloway.1
