The identification of Grace Lovejoy as a sister of John Lovejoy is based on her baptism record in a neighboring parish, with a father of the same name, and the fact that they came to New England together.1 They emigrated from Caversham, Oxfordshire, England, on the ship Confidence in 1638, as servants in the family of John Stephens.1 On the passenger list their surname is listed as "Lowgie."1
