She and her husband Durling lived in Whitley Co., Indiana, for a time5, then moved to Decatur, Adams Co., Indiana.5 They are listed in Root Twp., Adams Co., Indiana, in the 1870 census. They are enumerated as Balton (or Barton) and Lucy A. Rockwood, but their ages, birth places, and his occupation of Baptist Minister make it fairly certain that this is the right family. Living with them was Mary E. Hines, age 12, born in Indiana.6
They moved to Ohio sometime between 1870 and 18806,7, and were living in Pleasant Twp., Van Wert Co., Ohio, in 1880. Living with them was a servant, Bell Gilpin, age 18. In the census, Lucinda's occupation is listed as "Lady of house," and she was suffering from a spinal affliction.7 In 1900 they were living in Marion Twp., Allen Co., Ohio.4
She and Durling had no children.4
