After their marriage Ozias Grant and his wife Lorana moved to Vernon, Windham Co. (now Tolland Co.), Connecticut.2 He was a farmer, and also had a grist mill and a sawmill.2 He was impressed into the British army, and was part of the campaign against Quebec. He later, during the Revolution, responded to the Lexington alarm.2 He was described as "a large, stalwart man, of simple and quaint manners, and given to queer speeches."2

He lived in Coventry, Windham Co. (now Tolland Co.), Connecticut.1 He moved to Tolland, Windham Co. (now Tolland Co.), Connecticut, about 17461, and he and his wife Susannah moved back to Coventry about 1750.1 He served at Lake George during the French and Indian War, as a lieutenant in 1755 and as captain of the 7th Company, 2nd Regiment, in 1756. That same year the Connecticut Assembly awarded him a bonus for "extraordinary services and good conduct in ranging and scouting." He left Fort William Henry on a scouting trip on 20 September 1756 and disappeared.1
