FatherGeorge H. Newcombe1
MotherDella Fields1
Electa J. Newcombe was born on 11 August 1881 in Michigan.1 She married Fred A. Clark, son of Almon William Clark and Sarah Eliza Woodin, about 1901 (based on the birth date of their first child).3,4 She died on 11 February 1906 in Casco Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, at age 24 from peritonitis, with childbirth and infections as a contributory cause.1 She was buried on 13 February 1906 at Taylor Cemetery in Allegan Co., Michigan.1,2
She went by the nickname "Jennie." Her obituary, and the death records for her sons Harry and Henry, give her name as Jennie Newcombe. Her obituary also says she left three children, the youngest just one week old, and that she was buried at Taylor Cemetery. The death certificate for Electa J. (Newcomb) Clark doesn't name her husband, but it lists peritonitis as the cause of death, with childbirth and infection as a contributory cause, lasting seven days, and says she was buried at Taylor Cemetery. Together, these make it clear that Electa J. (Newcomb) Clark and Jennie (Newcombe) Clark were the same person.2,1
     She and Fred had the following known children: Harry Lee (b 7 April 1903, d 29 August 1949), Iva A. (b abt 1905), Henry Judson (b 4 February 1906, d 19 May 1965).3,4,5,6
