He lived in Rochester, Kent Co., England.1
In 1618 he was a mariner on the ship Moone, and in November of that year arrived at Bamtam, Java, after a voyage around the Cape of Good Hope.1 His will was dated barely a month later, on 23 December 1618, and thus must have been made in Java or on the trip back home. In it he left his son Ralph and daughter Edee a house and tenement in Leeds, Kent Co., to be divided equally, with Ralph to receive his share at age 20 and Edee at age 18. He left his wages (from the trip to Java?) to his wife Mary, his clothes and belongings that were with him onboard the ship to two shipmates, and 20 shillings to be divided equally between four other people. His wife Mary was named executrix.1 The will was proved in London, England, on 18 February 1619/20.1
