His will was dated 8 September 1697 and proved on 24 September. He left £100 to his daughter Elizabeth Curtis, and £600 to his son Job at age 18. Most of the rest of his estate was left to his sons George and Robert, and his widow Naomi. George and Robert were to provide for their mother for as long as she remained a widow. He also left £10 to Giffe, and stipulated that his Indian servant Sarah was to have her freedom after five years.1
The inventory of his estate listed a significant amount of livestock, including 200 sheep and 100 lambs, and household goods. Also listed were "2 negro boys" valued at £60, an Indian girl valued at 25s, 1/8 of the brigantine George, a silver plate worth £30, and cash and bills totaling £438 1s 8d.1
