     John Lawton was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.¹ He married Mary Boomer, daughter of Matthew Boomer and Eleanor (?).¹ He died before 1678.¹

     Mary Boomer married first John Lawton, son of George Lawton and Elizabeth Hazard.¹ She married second Gideon Freeborn on 3 June 1678.¹ She died after 1715.¹

     George Lawton was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.¹ He married Naomi Hunt, daughter of Bartholomew Hunt and Ann (?), on 17 January 1677.¹ He died on 11 September 1697.¹
     His will was dated 8 September 1697 and proved on 24 September. He left £100 to his daughter Elizabeth Curtis, and £600 to his son Job at age 18. Most of the rest of his estate was left to his sons George and Robert, and his widow Naomi. George and Robert were to provide for their mother for as long as she remained a widow. He also left £10 to Giffe, and stipulated that his Indian servant Sarah was to have her freedom after five years.¹
     The inventory of his estate listed a significant amount of livestock, including 200 sheep and 100 lambs, and household goods. Also listed were "2 negro boys" valued at £60, an Indian girl valued at 25s, 1/8 of the brigantine George, a silver plate worth £30, and cash and bills totaling £438 1s 8d.¹

     Naomi Hunt was born on 15 September 1658.¹ She married first George Lawton, son of George Lawton and Elizabeth Hazard, on 17 January 1677.¹ She married second Isaac Lawton on 11 October 1701.¹ She died on 13 January 1721 at age 62.¹

     Elizabeth Lawton was born on 15 November 1678.¹ She married Holon Curtis.¹

     George Lawton was born on 30 April 1685.¹

     Robert Lawton was born on 14 October 1688.¹

     Job Lawton was born on 22 January 1692.¹

     Holon Curtis married Elizabeth Lawton, daughter of George Lawton and Naomi Hunt.¹

     Robert Lawton was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.¹ He married Mary Wodell, daughter of Gershom Wodell and Mary Tripp, on 16 February 1681.¹ He died on 25 January 1706.¹
     He was made a freeman in 1684.¹ In 1688 he served on a grand jury and was Sealer of Weights in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.¹ He served as Deputy in 1690, 1698, and 1702, and as Assistant in 1691, 1702, and 1703.¹
     On 2 June 1688 his father George Lawton deeded to him "for love &c.," all of his "goods, chattels, debts, bills, bonds, movables, and immovables."¹
     His will was dated 8 January 1706 and proved on 11 February. He left his wife the great room in his house for as long as she remained a widow, plus the cellar, "household stuff as much as she wishes," a negro woman, and £20/year to be paid by his son George. His daughters Mary Sherman and Elizabeth Lawton were each left a silver porringer. Elizabeth also received his negro girl Anne and £70, half in silver and half in goods. His widowed sister Ruth Wodell received his negro girl Kate, plus various household goods and livestock, for as long as she remained a widow. The rest of his estate, including land, household goods, gold and silver, and three negro men and a boy, was left to his sons George and Robert.¹

     Mary Wodell married Robert Lawton, son of George Lawton and Elizabeth Hazard, on 16 February 1681.¹ She died on 14 January 1732.¹

     Mary Lawton was born on 20 February 1682.¹ She married (?) Sherman.¹

     George Lawton was born on 1 September 1685.¹

     Elizabeth Lawton was born on 12 September 1688.¹

     Robert Lawton was born on 5 January 1696.¹

     (?) Sherman married Mary Lawton, daughter of Robert Lawton and Mary Wodell.¹

     Susanna Lawton married Thomas Cornell, son of Thomas Cornell and Elizabeth Fiscock.¹ She died on 9 December 1712.¹

     Thomas Cornell was born in 1653.¹ He married Susanna Lawton, daughter of George Lawton and Elizabeth Hazard.¹ He died on 11 October 1714.¹
