     Susannah Congdon was born about 1742 (based on her parent's marriage date, and her own marriage date).2 She married Timothy Peckham, son of Benjamin Peckham and Mary Carr, on 11 March 1759.2 She died on 5 August 1813.2
     She was "called by the Society of Friends for allowing an entertainment after the manner of the world" at her daughter's marriage.2 In her father's will, dated 11 September 1755 and proved in 1757, she was left a negro girl named Lettice (who was to go to her children after her death), a riding horse her mother was to choose for her, a bed, and £100. She and her half-sisters Elizabeth and Martha were also to receive the use of a room in the house given to her half-brothers Joseph and William, for as long as they remained single, along with the "privilege of dressing victuals in the kitchen and the keep of two cows."1

     John Wells was born in May 1676.1 He married Elizabeth Congdon, daughter of Benjamin Congdon and Elizabeth Albro.1 He died in 1732.1
     His will was proved 11 July 1732 and his sons John and Benjamin were named executors. He left his wife 1/3 of his personal estate, and the use of his house for as long as she remained a widow. His sons John and Benjamin each received half his homestead, plus clothing and "farming tackling." The rest of his personal estate went to his daughters Mercy Whitford, Elizabeth Sweet, (--?--) Wells, and Susanna Wells. The inventory of his estate included a mare and colt, cattle, a woolen wheel, clothing, and £31.1

     His will was proved in 1725 and his wife Susanna was named executrix. In it he left land, cattle, and a feather bed to each of his sons David, Stephen, Benjamin, and Robert, and directed his wife to bring up the younger children. His estate was inventoried at £248 7s, and included sheep and lambs, cattle, five feather beds, and clothing.1

She received two cows and a heifer, a feather bed, a warming pan, stillyards, a spice mortar, a brass kettle, a lanthorn, an old brass kettle, a little brass kettle, a little iron pot, and a skillet. If she were to outlive her husband, she was to have equal rights to 30 acres of land and housing that her father left to his grandsons (her sons) John and Albro Anthony. She also was to receive what remained of her father's moveable estate after all other bequests were satisfied.2,1
