King Frederick II (of Denmark) was born on 1 July 1534 in Haderslevhus, Haderslev, Haderslev, Denmark.2 He was the son of King Christian III (of Denmark) and Princess Dorothea (of Saxony-Lauenburg).2 King Frederick II (of Denmark) married Princess Sofie (of Mecklenburg), daughter of Ulrich III Regent (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) and Princess Elisabeth (of Denmark & Norway), on 20 July 1572 in Copenhagen Castle, Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark.2 King Frederick II (of Denmark) died on 4 April 1588 in Antvorskov Slot, St. Peders, Soro, Denmark, at age 53.2 He was buried in Roskilde Domkirke, Roskilde, Roskilde Amt, Denmark.2
