Princess Dorothea (of Saxony-Lauenburg) was born on 9 July 1511 in Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia.1 She was the daughter of Duke Magnus I (of Saxony-Lauenburg-Ratzburg) and Princess Katharine (of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel).1 Princess Dorothea (of Saxony-Lauenburg) married King Christian III (of Denmark), son of King Frederik I (of Denmark) and Anna Duchess (of Schleswig-Holstein), on 29 October 1525 in Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia.1 Princess Dorothea (of Saxony-Lauenburg) died on 7 October 1571 in Sønderborg Slot, Sønderborg, Sønderjylland, Denmark, at age 60.1 She was buried in Roskilde Domkirke, Roskilde, Roskilde Amt, Denmark.1
