On 5 February 1753 Thomas Williamson was granted 997 acres "on the head branches of the Piney Wood and Otter Creek, adjoining Munford and Howard" in Lunenburg Co., Virginia.2 His will was dated 5 June 1755 in Lunenburg Co., Virginia, and probated in October 1755. He left his personal estate to his wife Martha for life, plus his negroes, plantation, and adjoining land. All his lands were to be split among his children when they reached the age of majority. The executor was Joseph Williams, Gentleman, and the witnesses were Richard Ward, Peter Hudson, Henrietta Williams, and Joseph Williams.3 On 5 September 1759 his estate was valued at £82 1s 4p.4
The names of the children of Thomas Williamson are taken from circumstantial evidence provided by later land transactions in Bedford Co. (formerly Lunenburg Co.), Virginia, involving property along Otter and Camp Creeks owned by Williamson families.1

In 1786 John Williamson bought 185 acres of land on Goose Creek and Broad Branch from Robert Mead.3
His will was dated 31 December 1807 and proved 22 February 1808. In it he left: to his wife Nancy, the land where he was then living on the south side of Broad Branch, along with the household and kitchen furniture, his best still, a horse, two cows and calves, and a wheat fan; to his son Milbourn, an old still, a cross cut saw, a cow and calf, and a currying knife; to his son Elisha, the land and still that was left to his wife Nancy, after her death; to his son Benjamin, his land on the north side of Broad Branch, a mare and saddle, and his clothes; and to his wife's son Abel Blankenship, a mare "whenever my wife thinks proper." Whatever remained was to be sold for his wife's use. At her death, everything except the land and still left to Elisha was to be divided equally between his sons Milbourn, Elisha, and Benjamin. The executors were John Clayton, John Headen, and James Leftwich, and the witnesses were Charles W. Baird, Gilbert Crumb, Nancy Mead, Betsey Price, T. R. Claytor, and Michael Krantz.2

His will was included in a letter to his father from Fluvanna Co., Virginia, on 25 September 1794, in which he says that he has "taken a mans place in the militia to go to the northard, in this late rebellion in the northern people." He leaves two bonds to his father "if I never return back," one from John Miller for £30 and one from Thomas Appleberry for £12 18s, both then in the hands of John Payne. He also asks that his brother Elisha receive his land on Goose Creek in Bedford Co., along with money due him in that county.1
