She and her husband Jacob and their family moved to near Minot, Ward Co., North Dakota, sometime between 1900 and 1902.1 About five or six years later, in 1907, they moved again, to the "Hardscrabble community" near Sawyer, Pratt Co., Kansas.1 They later moved back to Carroll Co., Indiana.1 She and Jacob had the following known children: Minnie Mable (b 22 April 1898, d 8 May 1964), David S., John Henry, Mary Elizabeth.1,3

He and his first wife Vera moved from Milmine, Piatt Co., Illinois, to Carroll Co., Indiana.4 A severe case of the measles as a child made him mostly deaf, and Vera had helped him a great deal. After her death in 1918 left him with four children, he became abusive to them. The oldest, Neal, moved out on his own, and another left to live with an aunt.4

She and her husband Rufus moved from Milmine, Piatt Co., Illinois, to Carroll Co., Indiana.2 They had the following known children: Neal Howard (b 15 March 1900, d 28 January 1926), Anna May Jean (b 22 August 1903, d 13 February 1982), Floyd John (b 15 August 1905, d 24 June 1967), Lucille Elizabeth (b 19 November 1907).5
