Within a year after their marriage she and her husband Jonathan moved to Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, arriving on 28 November 1824.2 In 1828 they moved to a location two miles north of Springfield.2 They were still living there in 1876.2

He served as a lieutenant in a light horse company during the Winnebago War in 1826 and 1827, and as a captain in the same company during the Black Hawk War in 1831.2 Within a year after their marriage he and his wife Sarah moved to Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, arriving on 28 November 1824.2 In 1828 they moved to a location two miles north of Springfield.2 They were still living there in 1876.2
