     William A. Gill was born in 1853 in Missouri.^2,1 He married Lucy J. McKinnie, daughter of William P. McKinnie and Sarah J. Threlkeld, between 1870 and 1880.^1,2 He died in 1926.² He was buried at McKinnie Cemetery in Sangamon Co., Illinois.²

     Mary A. Hood was born about 1853 in England.¹

     Henry L. Hood was born about 1856 in New York.¹

     Hepsibah Batchelder was born on 27 December 1785 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.³ She married first William Abbot, son of William Abbot and Elizabeth Leach, on 15 December 1808 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,4,2 She married second Samuel Picket on 9 May 1815.^1,2,3

     Oliver Blanchard was married by Rev. A. Abbot to Elizabeth B. Abbot, daughter of William Abbot and Elizabeth Leach, on 15 November 1814 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,3

     William Abbot was born in Andover, Essex Co., Massachusetts.³ He married Martha White, daughter of John White and Mary Brown, on 9 May 1758 in Ipswich, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2,3 He died in 1767.³
     The Abbot genealogy by Abiel and Ephraim Abbot, in the section on the descendants of Arthur Abbot of Ipswich, indicates that this William Abbot was the son of Arthur Abbot and Sarah Willcomb, baptized 28 February 1741. This is apparently wrong, however. The Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, as well as an article in The Essex Antiquarian, show that Arthur and Sarah Abbot's son William died young, on 14 June 1742 in Ipswich, Massachusetts.^4,5,6,7
     The Descendants of John White says he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Abbott, grandson of Arthur and Mercy (Appleton) (Smith) Abbott, g-grandson of Philip and Mary Abbott, and gg-grandson of Arthur Abbott from Totness, Devonshire, England. However, this ancestry is suspect. No sources or details are listed. The Essex Antiquarian and several on-line sites show a variety of descendancy trees for Arthur Abbot of Totness, all without sources.^3,7

     He died intestate, and his widow Martha was appointed administrator of his estate on 8 December 1767 in Essex Co., Massachusetts, with Thomas Brown of Wenham, gentleman, and John Patch the 4th of Ipswich as sureties with a bond of £1000. (On one form the date is erroneously recorded as 8 December 1768.)⁸ The inventory was done on 30 January 1768 and presented in court in Essex Co. on 2 May 1768. His real estate consisted of his house and 2.5 acres of land, valued at £186 13s 4d. His personal estate consisted of a case of black walnut, furniture, glassware, bottles, kitchen ware, fireplace hardware, tools, books, beds and bedding, a diaper table, clothing, flour, 90 lbs. of pork, 70 lbs. of cheese, a musket, and notes due from Luke Dodge, John Killam, Thomas Abbot, Jonathan Corning, Jonathan Woodbury, and Nathaniel Ellwell. Although each item is given a value in the inventory, the total is not shown.⁸
     The final account was presented and accepted on 2 March 1772. It showed real estate valued at £186 13s 4d, and a personal estate of £121 18s 7d (including receipts of £37 15s 4d since his death), for a total value of £308 11s 11d. Disbursements totaled £208 12s 3d, including £25 10s to his widow Martha for raising three children under age seven, for 8.5 years at £3 per year. The same day Benjamin Jones, Josiah Batchelder, and Thomas Brown were appointed to set off 1/3 of the real estate for the widow as her dower rights. This was done on 17 April 1772, but not recorded until 26 July 1774.⁸

     Martha White was born on 3 December 1739 in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts.⁴ She married William Abbot on 9 May 1758 in Ipswich, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2,4 She died from pulmonary consumption (i.e., tuberculosis) about 2 July 1786 (based on her burial date) in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.⁵ She was buried on 4 July 1786.⁵

     John Abbot was baptized on 10 April 1763 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,3,2 He died young, and is probably the infant child of William who died on 21 September 1763 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^4,2

     John Abbot was born on 23 August 1764 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2,3 He was lost at sea sometime before 1 April 1788, when his taxes were abated.^1,3

     Hannah Abbot was baptized on 8 January 1767 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2 She married Woodberry Messey, intentions published on 6 September 1789 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,4

     At the time of his marriage, Woodberry Messey was described as being of Ware, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts.^1,2

     Sarah Gardner was born on 25 March 1734.² She married Joseph Bowditch, son of Joseph Bowditch and Elizabeth Hunt, on 3 March 1757.¹ She died on 8 December 1797 at age 63.¹ She was buried at Burying Point Cemetery in Essex Co., Massachusetts.²

     Elizabeth Bowditch was baptized on 2 May 1756 in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts.¹ She died young.¹

     William Bowditch was baptized on 9 July 1758 in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts.¹ He died young.¹

     Mary Appleton was born about 1772.¹ She probably married Ebenezer Bowditch, son of Ebenezer Bowditch and Elizabeth Gilman, on 25 July 1797.¹ She died on 17 May 1819.¹ She was buried at Burying Point Cemetery in Essex Co., Massachusetts.²

     Andrew Bowditch was baptized on 4 June 1769 in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts.¹
