     Mary Wallis was born on 9 May 1809 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2 She married Charles Woodberry McLellan, son of George McLellan and Martha Woodberry, on 29 July 1834 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,3 She died from stomach cancer on 31 March 1875 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 65.⁴
     She and Charles had the following known children, all born in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts: George Montgomery (b 26 December 1834, d 11 December 1902), Charles Woodberry (b 25 November 1836), Mary Eliza (b 16 April 1844, d 30 October 1896).^5,6

     Calvin Wallis was born on 8 May 1811 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2 He married Betsey Brower, daughter of Henry Brower and Betsey Thissell, on 7 December 1837 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,2 He died from heart disease on 16 October 1868 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 57.⁴
     He and Betsey had the following known children, all born in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Betsy Ann (b 4 September 1838), Calvin (b 30 July 1840), Henry Brower (b 12 November 1842), Augusta Foster (b 18 September 1845), Emily Jane (b 15 November 1849).⁵

     Betsey Brower was born on 30 July 1818 (based on her age at death of 79 years, 4 months, 22 days) in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.² She married Calvin Wallis, son of Bartholomew Wallis and Fanny Foster, on 7 December 1837 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,3 She died at home on Corning St. in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from "phthisis pulmonalis" (i.e., tuberculosis) on 22 December 1892 at age 74.²
     She and Calvin had the following known children: Betsy Ann (b 4 September 1838), Calvin (b 30 July 1840), Henry Brower (b 12 November 1842), Augusta Foster (b 18 September 1845), Emily Jane (b 15 November 1849).⁴

     Luther Wallis was born on 25 November 1814 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,2 He married Elizabeth Bell, daughter of John Bell and Betsey Friend, on 30 November 1837 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^4,2 He died from cancer of the liver and stomach on 4 July 1881 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 66.⁵
     He was a cordwainer (i.e., cobbler).⁵ He and Elizabeth had the following known children, all born in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Elizabeth Friend (b 25 November 1838), Edward (b 22 May 1844, d 27 June 1844), Ellen Maria (b 18 April 1845, bap 17 September 1848), Fanny Foster (b 22 December 1849), Austin Edward (b 28 November 1851), Alice Gray (b 31 January 1854, d 17 December 1889), Arthur Wood (b 21 April 1864).^6,7,8

     Daniel Wallis was born on 1 July 1701 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2 He married Hannah Cressey, daughter of John Cressey and Sarah Gaines, intentions published on 1 August 1725 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,4,5 He died on 13 August 1774 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 73.⁶

     Hannah Cressey was born on 24 June 1705.^2,1 She was baptized on 8 July 1705 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,4 She married Daniel Wallis, son of Caleb Wallis and Sarah Stone, intentions published on 1 August 1725 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,5,2 She died on 12 April 1762 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 56.^3,1
     Beverly town clerk records list her name, apparently mistakenly, as Sarah Dodge.³

     Caleb Wallis was born about 1667 (based on his age at death of about 47) in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,1 He was married by John Hale to Sarah Stone, daughter of Nathaniel Stone and Remember Corning, on 12 December 1687 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,4,5,6 He died on 1 November 1714 (Davis says 1715) in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,6
     He served as town clerk in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, in 1703.¹ On 11 July 1711 his brother Joshua deeded to him for £58 half of their late father's homestead, containing a house, barn, and six acres of land.⁷
     His estate was valued at £528, and was left to his widow Sarah, sons Joshua, Nathaniel, and Daniel, and daughters Abigail and Sarah. They divided the property on 20 December 1722, with 1/3 going to the widow and the remainder to the children, with Joshua as the eldest son receiving two shares.^6,3

     Sarah Stone was baptized on 1 August 1669 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.³ She was married by John Hale to Caleb Wallis, son of Nathaniel Wallis and Margaret (?), on 12 December 1687 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^5,1,2,3 She died before 1736.³

     Nathaniel Wallis was born about 1632 (based on his age at death of about 77) in co. Cornwall, England.^1,2 He married Margaret (?).^3,2 He died on 18 October 1709 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,4
     He immigrated to New England by 1657, settling in Falmouth, Maine.² He bought the Thomas Wise plantation at Martin's Point in 1660², and in North Yarmouth from "the Brays and John Cousins" in 1672.²
     He served as constable in 1658, grand juror in 1658, 1670, and 1671, and trial juror in 1666 and 1667, and in 1665 he was fined for not appearing in court. He was as an appraiser for the Skilling estate in 1667, and was part of a committee to lay out a Scarborough road in 1669.²
     In February 1678/79 he sold land at Beck Cove in Falmouth, York Co. (now Cumberland Co.), Maine, to Edmund Gale.⁵
     During two Indian Wars he moved into Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, for safety.² He and his wife Margaret joined the church there on 16 July 1690.⁴
     In his will he names his sons Caleb and Joshua, who were left his 309-acre farm in Falmouth, Maine, his daughter Mary Pike, and his grandsons Nathaniel and "son of my son John." A codicil to his will mentions a grandson John Wallis.^6,7
     Some sources list an additional son Nathaniel for Nathaniel and Margaret Wallis. However more recent research notes that he is not named in the elder Nathaniel's will or codicil, and concludes that the evidence is insufficient to establish this relationship.^2,4,8

     Margaret (?) was born about 1627 (based on her age at death of about 84).^2,3 She married Nathaniel Wallis.^4,3 She died on 14 May 1711 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^2,3
     She and her husband Nathaniel joined the church in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, on 16 July 1690.¹
     Some sources list an additional son Nathaniel for Nathaniel and Margaret Wallis. However more recent research notes that he is not named in the elder Nathaniel's will or codicil, and concludes that the evidence is insufficient to establish this relationship.^3,1,5

     Bartholomew Wallis was born about 1657 (based on his age at death of 19).^3,1 He died on 17 January 1676 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^3,1

     John Wallis was born about 1656 (based on his age of 22 in 1678).¹ He married Bridget Shepard, daughter of Thomas Shepard and Ann (?).¹ He died before 1720.¹
     He and his wife Bridget were fined in court in March 1674.¹ That record indicates that he was blind, but another record, dated 1678, indicates that he was not.¹

     Joshua Wallis was married first, by Jonathan Corwin, to Abiah Conant, daughter of Exercise Conant and Sarah (?), on 1 June 1691 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,4,3,2 He married second Hannah Wells on 11 November 1697 in Windham, Hartford Co. (now Windham Co.), Connecticut.^5,3
     He was a cordwainer (i.e., shoemaker).^3,2 On 28 May 1695 he bought four acres of meadow and upland in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from his father-in-law Exercise Conant for £9 10s.⁶ On 10 March 1695/96 he and his wife Abiah sold this same parcel to Jonathan Baker of Salem for "£56 silver."^7,1 In 1698 he bought land in Beverly from Henry Haggerty.⁷
     He and his second wife Hannah lived in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts, probably from at least 1700 to 1716.⁸ On 11 July 1711 he deeded to his brother Caleb for £58 half of their late father's homestead, containing a house, barn, and six acres of land.¹ On 14 April 1716 he bought a house and eight six-acre lots (nos. 47-54) in Gloucester, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from Joseph Greely and his wife Elizabeth for £130.³ On 24 April 1716 he and Hannah sold land in Wenham to John Trask of Beverly.¹ On 26 July 1723 they sold their house, barn, and land in Gloucester to Ebenezer Pool for £540.³
     In 1734 he was living in New Sherborn, Maine.^3,2 On 14 May 1739 he sold all of his rights to lands in Falmouth and Yarmouth to his son-in-law Jacob Cozeus of Holliston.⁷

     Mary Wallis married Samuel Pike, son of Richard Pike and Elizabeth Andrews.²
     She was living as a widow in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, in 1718.³

     Bridget Shepard married John Wallis, son of Nathaniel Wallis and Margaret (?).¹
     She and her husband John were fined in court in March 1674.¹

     Abiah Conant was baptized on 21 June 1672.⁴ She was married by Jonathan Corwin to Joshua Wallis, son of Nathaniel Wallis and Margaret (?), on 1 June 1691 in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2,5,6 She died on 17 May 1696 in Windham, Hartford Co. (now Windham Co.), Connecticut, at age 23.⁷
     On 10 March 1695/96 she and her husband Joshua sold the four-acre lot they had received from Abiah's father in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts, to Jonathan Baker of Salem for "£56 silver."^4,1

     Caleb Wallis was born on 18 February 1704/5 in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts.^1,2
     He was a mariner, living in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, in 1734.³

     Samuel Pike was born about 1654 (based on his age of 23 in 1677 and 27 in 1681).³ He married Mary Wallis, daughter of Nathaniel Wallis and Margaret (?).¹ He probably died about March 1693/94, as his estate was inventoried on 3 April 1694.³
     He was a blacksmith in Falmouth, Maine,³ living southwest of the Muscle Cove River, where he owned 100 acres of land with a house and shop.³ In January 1675/76 he was living in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, as a refugee from the Indian Wars, and in April 1676 was officially admitted there as a temporary resident during the war.³ He was listed as an ensign in Falmouth in 1689³, but eventualy returned to Salem.³
