     Betty Carmen Lucille Towne was born on 14 January 1923 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,4 She married Robert Eric Douglass, son of Ellsworth A. Douglass and Muriel Throop, on 11 September 1948 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.⁵ She died on 28 March 1997 at her home at 223 Hill St. in Niles, Berrien Co., Michigan, at age 74.⁴ She was buried on 1 April 1997 at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. (Her funeral announcement erroneously says she was to be buried at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.) Funeral services were at 1:30 at the Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan, Berrien Co., Michigan.^6,4,7
     In 1942 she was living with her sister Ione and her husband Harry Roderick at 1723 N. Brookfield in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.⁸ From 1944 to 1947 she lived in South Bend with her mother Jessie, at 633 Cottage Grove Ave. in 1944, 1007 Oak in 1945-46, and 824 1/2 Lindsey in 1947.⁹ After their marriage, she and her husband Red lived in South Bend at 2511 W. Ewing Ave. from at least 1949 to 1954¹⁰, and at 2005 Marquette Blvd. from at least 1956 to 1960.¹¹
     Before her marriage she worked as an office worker, and as a clerk and cashier for National Discount Corp.¹²

     Robert Eric Douglass was born on 8 August 1915 in Vestaburg, Montcalm Co., Michigan.^1,2 He married Betty Carmen Lucille Towne, daughter of Howard William Town and Jessie Mae Phillips, on 11 September 1948 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.³ He died on 12 June 2006 at Pine Meadow Inn in Berrien Springs, Berrien Co., Michigan, at age 90.² He was buried on 19 June 2006 at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Funeral services were at the Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan, Berrien Co., Michigan, with Pastor Sean Kidd of the Buchanan Christian Church officiating.⁴
     He went by the nickname "Red."⁵ After their marriage, he and his wife Betty lived in South Bend at 2511 W. Ewing Ave. from at least 1949 to 1954⁶, and at 2005 Marquette Blvd. from at least 1956 to 1960.⁷
     He was an electrician, working for Koontz-Wagner Electric Co. from 1949 to 1954, for Soen's Electric in 1956, for Hatfield Electric in 1957, for Koontz-Wagner again in 1958, and for South Side Electric Co. in 1959 and 1960.⁸

     Luke Peter Phillips was born on 27 October 1885 (his birth record says 22 October 1885) in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.^3,4,5,2 He was married by B. C. Ruggles, Minister, to Rachel Harper, daughter of Hugh Harper and Catherine Sproule, on 20 August 1937 in Oakland, Alameda Co., California.⁶ He died on 25 September 1965 in Contra Costa Co., California, at age 79.⁵ He was buried at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, Contra Costa Co., California.⁷
     In 1900, at age 14, Luke Peter Phillips was living as a servant in the home of Albert H. Whitman and his family in West Bloomfield Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan.⁸ In 1910 he was working as a farm laborer in the household of George Edward Callow in Pontiac Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan.⁹ At the time he registered for the draft on 12 September 1918, and at the time of the 1920 census, he was working as a farmer in the household of Smith A. Bartlett in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.^3,10
     He moved to California by 1930, when he was working as a hired man doing farm work for Joseph Prewett in Township Eight, Contra Costa Co.¹¹ He and his wife Rachel are listed in the 1940 census on Peere Valley Rd. in Township Nine, Contra Costa Co., California. Living with them was Joseph S. Dax, Rachel's son from her first marriage.¹² On 27 April 1942, when he registered for the World War II draft, Luke was living at 1624 Belvedere Ave. in Berkeley, Alameda Co., California,⁴ and working for the New Berkeley Window Cleaners Co.⁴

     Raymond Lewis Phillips was born on 23 October 1881 in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.^1,2,3 He was married by Henry R. E. Quant, Clergyman, to Cora L. Wightman, daughter of Abel A. Wightman and Sarah M. Newell, on 18 June 1907 in Ganges, Allegan Co., Michigan.³ He died on 30 June 1958 in Allegan, Allegan Co., Michigan, at age 76 after suffering a heart attack.^5,6 He was buried on 3 July 1958 at Douglas Cemetery (Plot 09W-58-4) in Allegan Co., Michigan.^6,5
     In 1900 Raymond Lewis Phillips was living with Miles Cole and his family in Waterford Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan, and working as a farm laborer.²
     In 1910 he and his wife Cora were living in the rear of a several-family building at 3250 N. Clark Street in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.⁷ In 1920 they were living with two other families at 907 Fletcher St. in Chicago. Living with them were boarder Shanow Derby, age 36, and lodger Carl M. Swanson, age 35.⁸ They moved back to Michigan by April 1930, when they were living in Ganges Twp., Allegan Co. Boarding with them was John H. Hawley, age 40.⁹ In 1940 they were living in Saugatuck Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan.¹⁰
     In Chicago he was employed as a milk truck driver in 1910, an express and coal driver for the Ellison Express Co. in 1918, and an auto truck driver in 1920.^7,1,8 After moving back to Michigan, he worked as a farm laborer.^9,10

     Angela Nellie Storer was born on 4 August 1901 in Austria.^3,4,5 She married Otis William Towne, son of Howard William Town and Jessie Mae Phillips, on 10 May 1926 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,6,7 She died on 11 May 1969 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 67. She was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack.^3,4 She was buried on 14 May 1969 at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^3,8
     She went by her middle name Nellie.²
     She moved to South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, from Fulton, Oswego Co., New York, about 1924, and lived there the rest of her life.⁴ After their marriage she and her husband Otis lived for a time on Millett Rd. in South Bend⁹, then moved to Wilber St. in South Bend, where they lived at 1337 Wilber St. from 1929 to 1932¹⁰, and at 1325 Wilber St. from 1933 to 1935.¹¹ They then moved to Granger, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, where they lived the rest of their lives.^12,2,1,4 They are listed with their children Eugene, Otis, and Reginald in the 1940 census in Clay Twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹³ After 1958, at least, they were living at 16512 State Rd. 23 in Granger.^14,1,4

     Louise Whetstone was born on 6 June 1909 (her obituary says 4 July 1909) in Wayne Twp., Fulton Co., Indiana.^1,4 She married Kenneth Luke Towne, son of Howard William Town and Jessie Mae Phillips, in 1935.³ She died on 14 November 2001 at Countryside Place Nursing Home in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 92.^2,4 She was buried on 23 November 2001 at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.²
     She and her husband Kenneth lived in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, most of their lives. They were at 743 Portage Ave. in 1936, 324 Franklin in 1937, 201 E. Marion in 1938, 1317 Wilber in 1939, 619 Johnson in 1940, 201 E. Woodside from 1941 to 1942, 907 Parkway from 1945 to 1949, and 814 S. Gladstone from at least 1953 to 1960.^5,6 They are listed at 201 Woodside in the 1940 census.⁷ At the time of her husband's death in 1980 they were living at 823 Rynearson St. in Buchanan, Berrien Co., Michigan.³

     Kathleen Bernice Searles was born on 30 October 1901 in Caruthersville, Pemiscot Co., Missouri.^1,2 She married Forbes Kenneth Town, son of Otis Oren Town and Dora Elizabeth Nye, on 8 May 1922 at the Congregational Church in St. Joseph, Berrien Co., Michigan.^5,6 Kathleen filed for divorce on 4 December 1946 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana, and the divorce was granted on 23 April 1948.⁷ On 17 June 1982 she suffered a broken hip when she fell out of her bed at the Fountainview Place nursing home in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. She was admitted to Osteopathic Hospital in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, and died there from a pulmonary embolism on 25 June 1982 at age 80.^2,1 She was buried on 26 June 1982 at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^2,1
     She lived in the South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, area most of her life.¹ She and her husband Forbes lived in 737 S. 27th St., South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, from 1928 to 1934^8,9, at 927 S. 23rd St. in 1935¹⁰, at 614 Carroll in 1936¹¹, at 778 Lincolnway East in 1937¹², at 935 S. 28th St. from 1938 to 1941^13,14, and at 741 S. 29th St. from 1942 to 1947.¹⁵ Her husband's parents Otis and Dora Town lived with them during at least parts of 1930 and 1935¹⁶, and Otis continued living with them after Dora's death, until his own death in 1937.^11,17 She continued to live at 741 S. 29th St. after her divorce¹⁸, until 1959, when she moved to 419 W. Wayne in South Bend.¹⁹ At the time of her death in 1982 she was living at 628 Western Ave. in South Bend.¹

     Marybeth Louise Town was born on 3 August 1935 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,2 She died on 20 June 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana, at age 75.² She was buried at Highland Cemetery in St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Funeral services were at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in Plymouth, Indiana, on 25 June 2011.²
     At about age ten or eleven she suffered a severe illness that left her with various limitations.² In 1976 she moved into the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana.² She was living in Teegarden, Marshall Co., Indiana, in 1980 and 1982.^3,4 At the time of her death she was a resident at the Pathfinders Home at 604 N. Liberty St. in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana.²
     She was creative, and enjoyed latch hooking. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies (especially Shirley Temple movies), and following Notre Dame sports.²

     Forbes Russell Town was born on 29 November 1923 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,5 He married first Dorothy Lucille Blackford on 24 January 1942 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.⁶ Dorothy filed for divorce on 21 November 1960 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana, which was granted on 24 February 1961.⁷ They apparently remarried, since Dorothy again filed for divorce on 15 May 1964 St. Joseph Co., granted on 6 November 1964.⁸ He married as his third wife Helen Louise Coleman, daughter of Charles A. Coleman and Dolores Peppers, on 14 February 1981 in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^4,9 He died on 6 October 2013 at age 89.⁵ He was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.⁵
     He served as a TEC 4 in the U. S. Army during World War II, enlisting at Toledo, Ohio, on 20 January 1943.^10,5
     After their marriage he and his first wife Dorothy lived for a time at 741 29th in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹¹ They were living at 1130 Belmont Ave. in South Bend in 1944¹², at 621 28th St. from at least 1945 to 1947¹³, at 3532 Putnam Pl. from 1949 to 1953¹⁴, at 118 W. Navarre from 1954 to 1956¹⁵, and at 535 Riverside Dr. from 1957 to at least 1960.¹⁶ He was still living in South Bend in 1980.² He was living in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, in 1982³, and in Millersburg, Elkhart Co., Indiana, in 2008 and 2009.^17,18
     He was a bus driver for Northern Indiana Transport.^19,4
     The record of his marriage to Helen Louise Davis says that he had been married twice previously, but a record has not yet been found online for a second earlier marriage.⁴

     Ronald Keith Town was born on 8 October 1929 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^4,1 He married Betty June Lewis, daughter of Bridge Lewis and Elizabeth (?), on 5 July 1951 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^5,4,6 He died on 26 April 2008 at Waterford Place in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 78 from emphysema.^1,7 Funeral services were on 1 May 2008 at the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North in South Bend.⁴
     He lived his entire life in the area of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.⁴ He graduated in 1947 from Central High School in South Bend.⁴ He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.⁴ For many years he worked as a salesman for the Cook Coffee Company. He later worked at Big C Lumber Company from 1987 to 1995, and at the Meijer Store from 1995 to January 2008.⁴ He enjoyed reading, especially mysteries, and was an avid Notre Dame football and Chicago Cubs baseball fan.⁴

     Ruth Jane Ringle was born on 1 April 1918 in Attica, Seneca Co., Ohio.^3,6 She married third Forbes Kenneth Town, son of Otis Oren Town and Dora Elizabeth Nye, on 17 April 1964 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^3,2 She died on 8 January 1969 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Lucas Co., Ohio, at age 50.^3,7,6 She was buried on 10 January 1969 at Attica Venice Township Joint Cemetery (Row I-5, Grave 5) in Attica, Seneca Co., Ohio.^3,7,8
