In 1942 she was living with her sister Ione and her husband Harry Roderick at 1723 N. Brookfield in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.8 From 1944 to 1947 she lived in South Bend with her mother Jessie, at 633 Cottage Grove Ave. in 1944, 1007 Oak in 1945-46, and 824 1/2 Lindsey in 1947.9 After their marriage, she and her husband Red lived in South Bend at 2511 W. Ewing Ave. from at least 1949 to 195410, and at 2005 Marquette Blvd. from at least 1956 to 1960.11
Before her marriage she worked as an office worker, and as a clerk and cashier for National Discount Corp.12

He went by the nickname "Red."5 After their marriage, he and his wife Betty lived in South Bend at 2511 W. Ewing Ave. from at least 1949 to 19546, and at 2005 Marquette Blvd. from at least 1956 to 1960.7
He was an electrician, working for Koontz-Wagner Electric Co. from 1949 to 1954, for Soen's Electric in 1956, for Hatfield Electric in 1957, for Koontz-Wagner again in 1958, and for South Side Electric Co. in 1959 and 1960.8

In 1900, at age 14, Luke Peter Phillips was living as a servant in the home of Albert H. Whitman and his family in West Bloomfield Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan.8 In 1910 he was working as a farm laborer in the household of George Edward Callow in Pontiac Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan.9 At the time he registered for the draft on 12 September 1918, and at the time of the 1920 census, he was working as a farmer in the household of Smith A. Bartlett in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.3,10
He moved to California by 1930, when he was working as a hired man doing farm work for Joseph Prewett in Township Eight, Contra Costa Co.11 He and his wife Rachel are listed in the 1940 census on Peere Valley Rd. in Township Nine, Contra Costa Co., California. Living with them was Joseph S. Dax, Rachel's son from her first marriage.12 On 27 April 1942, when he registered for the World War II draft, Luke was living at 1624 Belvedere Ave. in Berkeley, Alameda Co., California,4 and working for the New Berkeley Window Cleaners Co.4

In 1900 Raymond Lewis Phillips was living with Miles Cole and his family in Waterford Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan, and working as a farm laborer.2
In 1910 he and his wife Cora were living in the rear of a several-family building at 3250 N. Clark Street in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.7 In 1920 they were living with two other families at 907 Fletcher St. in Chicago. Living with them were boarder Shanow Derby, age 36, and lodger Carl M. Swanson, age 35.8 They moved back to Michigan by April 1930, when they were living in Ganges Twp., Allegan Co. Boarding with them was John H. Hawley, age 40.9 In 1940 they were living in Saugatuck Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan.10
In Chicago he was employed as a milk truck driver in 1910, an express and coal driver for the Ellison Express Co. in 1918, and an auto truck driver in 1920.7,1,8 After moving back to Michigan, he worked as a farm laborer.9,10

She went by her middle name Nellie.2
She moved to South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, from Fulton, Oswego Co., New York, about 1924, and lived there the rest of her life.4 After their marriage she and her husband Otis lived for a time on Millett Rd. in South Bend9, then moved to Wilber St. in South Bend, where they lived at 1337 Wilber St. from 1929 to 193210, and at 1325 Wilber St. from 1933 to 1935.11 They then moved to Granger, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, where they lived the rest of their lives.12,2,1,4 They are listed with their children Eugene, Otis, and Reginald in the 1940 census in Clay Twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana.13 After 1958, at least, they were living at 16512 State Rd. 23 in Granger.14,1,4

She lived in the South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, area most of her life.1 She and her husband Forbes lived in 737 S. 27th St., South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, from 1928 to 19348,9, at 927 S. 23rd St. in 193510, at 614 Carroll in 193611, at 778 Lincolnway East in 193712, at 935 S. 28th St. from 1938 to 194113,14, and at 741 S. 29th St. from 1942 to 1947.15 Her husband's parents Otis and Dora Town lived with them during at least parts of 1930 and 193516, and Otis continued living with them after Dora's death, until his own death in 1937.11,17 She continued to live at 741 S. 29th St. after her divorce18, until 1959, when she moved to 419 W. Wayne in South Bend.19 At the time of her death in 1982 she was living at 628 Western Ave. in South Bend.1

At about age ten or eleven she suffered a severe illness that left her with various limitations.2 In 1976 she moved into the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana.2 She was living in Teegarden, Marshall Co., Indiana, in 1980 and 1982.3,4 At the time of her death she was a resident at the Pathfinders Home at 604 N. Liberty St. in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana.2
She was creative, and enjoyed latch hooking. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies (especially Shirley Temple movies), and following Notre Dame sports.2

He served as a TEC 4 in the U. S. Army during World War II, enlisting at Toledo, Ohio, on 20 January 1943.10,5
After their marriage he and his first wife Dorothy lived for a time at 741 29th in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.11 They were living at 1130 Belmont Ave. in South Bend in 194412, at 621 28th St. from at least 1945 to 194713, at 3532 Putnam Pl. from 1949 to 195314, at 118 W. Navarre from 1954 to 195615, and at 535 Riverside Dr. from 1957 to at least 1960.16 He was still living in South Bend in 1980.2 He was living in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, in 19823, and in Millersburg, Elkhart Co., Indiana, in 2008 and 2009.17,18
He was a bus driver for Northern Indiana Transport.19,4
The record of his marriage to Helen Louise Davis says that he had been married twice previously, but a record has not yet been found online for a second earlier marriage.4

He lived his entire life in the area of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.4 He graduated in 1947 from Central High School in South Bend.4 He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.4 For many years he worked as a salesman for the Cook Coffee Company. He later worked at Big C Lumber Company from 1987 to 1995, and at the Meijer Store from 1995 to January 2008.4 He enjoyed reading, especially mysteries, and was an avid Notre Dame football and Chicago Cubs baseball fan.4
