Born in Glace Bay, Bruce was the son of the late Doug and Helen (Gouthro) MacFarlane. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; special grandnephews, Paul and Michael Breski and grandnieces, Kate and Laura MacMullin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Bea Thrasher and his brothers, Charles and Matt. Bruce was retired and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Churchwith Rev. John J. MacIntyre officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Glace Bay.⁸
