~~
MARTHA LEBLANC
On September 12, 1941, at the Russell Memorial, in Brookline, Mass., Martha (nee MacFarlane) LeBlanc passed to her eternal reward fortified by the last rites of the Catholic Church. The deceased was born at Margaree Harbor, C. B., in 1883, daughter of the late Captain John MacFarlane, and Annie MacNeil (Mabou), C. B. Her unassuming and retiring disposition gained for her many friends, as was attested by the many spiritual bouquets and beautiful floral tributes received. She had been ill for some time and bore it with a true Christian spirit. All that medical care and kind nursing could do for her recovery during her illness was to no avail. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn their loss, two sisters and one brother: Annie A. MacFarlane, John MacFarlane, Margaree; and Margaret M. MacFarlane, Chestnut Hill, Mass. The funeral took place September 15 to St. Mary’s church, Brookline, where a requiem Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Splaine who also officiated at the burial at St. Joseph’s cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass. R. I. P.5 - Biography*: According to the 1891 Census Marcilla could both read and write.3
