He is listed as a member of the 2nd. Company of Hopkinton, Washington Co., Rhode Island, under Capt. George Thurston, Jr.2 He is listed in the military census of 1777 in Hopkinton as able to bear arms.2 He and his first wife Sarah had one known daughter, Sarah Ann (b 8 March 1762).2 He and his second wife Jemima had the following known children: Elias (b 17 February 1765), David (b 12 December 1766), Jemima (b 26 January 1770), Zebbius (b 22 November 1774, d young), Zelek (b 3 July 1776), John (b 16 May 1778), Anna (b 7 April 1779), Mercy (b 19 March 1780), Nancy (b 17 January 1783).2
