On 23 March 1715 his father Thomas Howe and Thomas Fiske entered into a legal agreement involving real estate to be given to him and his fiancee Rebekah Perkins when they were married. (Rebekah was Thomas Fiske's niece, daughter of his sister Mary, and was "brought up by him.") His father agreed to "settle so much real estate upon his said son as shall equalize any of my other sons for quantity and quality," and Thomas Fiske was to give the couple 1/3 of his real estate.4 On 16 December 1724, after Thomas Fiske's death, his widow Rebecca sold him the remaining 2/3 of this property.5,4
He and Rebekah had the following known children: Thomas (b 20 June 1716), Mary (b 30 June 1718, d 7 June 1802), Ezekial (b 29 June 1720, d 7 October 1800), Simon (b 28 October 1722, d 26 August 1806), Sarah (b 4 July 1725), Rebekah (b 16 August 1727).6

He was active in the early battles with the Indians, including the attack at Lancaster in February 1675/76, and eventually became a Colonel in the militia.1 He was also active in civil affairs in Marlboro, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, serving in several offices and positions, including Justice of the Peace, and as a representative to the General Court.1

He was commissioned as an ensign in the militia on 7 February 1744, and served in the expedition to Cape Briton.1 He and his wife Esther lived in Ipswich (now Hamilton), Essex Co., Massachusetts.1 They moved to North Brookfield, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, about 1747, where he bought a farm from Jonathan Bush.1

In 1712 he and his stepmother purchased from his brother Amos all of his brother's property in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts, including a share in a mill.4

She and her husband Josiah lived in Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts,1 until 1743, when they moved to Lunenburg, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.1 They had the following known children: Josiah (b 10 January 1718, d 1805), Reuben (b 21 January 1720/21, d 15 June 1762), Eli (b 2 January 1722/23), Tabitha (b 1 July 1726), Zebulon (b abt 1727), Sarah (b 14 February 1729), William (b 6 January 1732), Seth (b 11 February 1734/35), Prudence (b 12 December 1736), Thomas (b 15 January 1737(/38?)).2
