Biography*: Joseph was a veteran of the Second World War, first serving with the Cape Breton Highlanders, and later was a member of the Canadian Corps. of Signals when they landed at "Juno" in Normandy, France on June 6, 1944. After the war he worked for Camp Hill Hospital, then Canada Post before transferring to Canada Customs, where he retired in Baddeck with over thirty years of service. He was a founding member of St. Stephens Parish in Halifax before moving to Baddeck. He was an avid hockey fan and loved to hunt and fish. He had seventeen grandchildren at the time of his death.¹
