Wes and his family attempted short logging on Orcas Island, WA in 1965. Due to poor representation of the person he bought the company from and the extremely abused equipment, he was unable to make a financial success of this. Wes was a long time member of Local 302, Heavy Equipment Operators. He usually ran a bull-dozer.
