She and her husband Aaron adopted one child, Albert Endress (b 1875, d 1949). According to family tradition, Albert was adopted from an "orphan train" when it stopped in Mulberry at a time when Aaron happened to be there. But young Albert didn't want to be separated from his brother Adolph who was also on the train. Aaron took both of them, and Adolph went to live with Aaron's brother Joseph K. Metzger.2
