     He and his wife Ella moved to McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas, in 1892.² He was a farmer and banker.² He and Ella had the following known children: Ernest E. (b February 1884), Frank B.      She and her husband Francis moved to McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas, about 1891.² They had the following known children: Grace (b abt 1889), Viola (b abt 1891), Wilbur (b abt 1898), Rowena (b abt 1902), Elberta (b abt 1904).²

     Daniel F. Kuns was born in April 1870 in Piatt Co., Illinois.² He married first Myrtle E. (?).² He married second Lottie B. Haberlein on 22 July 1917 in El Dorado, Butler Co., Kansas.² He died in 1960.² He was buried in McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas.²
     He and his first wife Myrtle had two known children, both born in McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas: Rosali (b abt 1893) and Jack (b abt 1903).²

     Mary Metzger was born on 20 November 1833 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.¹ She married first (?) Henricks.² She married second Henry L. Kuns, son of John Kuns and Hannah Wolf, on 24 August 1890 in Piatt Co., Illinois.¹ She married third Andrew C. Shively, son of Jacob Shively and Susannah Metzger (and widower of her sister Barbara), on 22 April 1896 in Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois.³ She died on 25 April 1922 in Lordsburg (now Laverne), Los Angeles Co., California, at age 88.¹ She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Lordsburg, Los Angeles Co., California.⁴

     John Metzger was born on 20 December 1807 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.^2,3 He married first Hannah Ulery, daughter of John Ulery and Catharine Wolf, on 31 July 1828 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.^4,3 He married second Parmelia (?) about 1889.³ He died on 25 May 1896 in Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois, at age 88.² He was buried at West Frantz Cemetery.²
     He came to Montgomery Co., Ohio, with his parents about 1819 (at age 12).³ He and his first wife Hannah moved to Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, in 1834.³ He and Hannah had joined the Church of the Brethren in Montomery Co., Ohio, shortly after their marriage, and were among the first members of the North Fork church (later renamed the Pyrmont church) in Carroll Co., Indiana.⁵ He became a church minister in 1835, and an elder (i.e., head minister) in 1843. By 1845 the North Fork church had grown considerably, and was divided. John Metzger became bishop of the the southern part, called the Middle Fork (now Rossville) church, where he remained until 1861.⁵
     He was a powerful preacher, and during his early years as a minister he is said to have been frequently "threatened by angry, wicked men whose wives had been brought to the church by [his] preaching." He became well known throughout Indiana, and represented the state six times on the Standing Committee at the annual meetings.³
     In 1861 he and his first wife Hannah moved to Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois.³ He continued being active in the church, attending the annual meetings even when not serving as a delegate, and often traveling back to Indiana, preaching along the way. In 1878 he donated the money for a new church in Cerro Gordo.³
     He and his second wife Parmelia moved to Lordsburg (now La Verne), Los Angeles Co., California, in 1890.³ He spoke at the church's California District meeting in March 1896.³ Shortly afterwards he traveled back to Cerro Gordo, presumably to visit family, and died there on 25 May 1896.³

     Hannah Ulery was born on 10 January 1808 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.² She married John Metzger on 31 July 1828 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.^3,4 She died on 31 May 1887 in Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois, at age 79.² She was buried at West Frantz Cemetery.²
     She and her husband John moved to Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, in 1834.⁴ They had joined the Church of the Brethren in Montomery Co., Ohio, shortly after their marriage, and were among the first members of the North Fork church (later renamed the Pyrmont church) in Carroll Co., Indiana.⁵ In 1861 she and her husband John moved to Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois.⁴

     Catharine Klinzman married David C. Kuns, son of Henry L. Kuns and Caroline Spidel, on 19 August 1875 in Piatt Co., Illinois.²
     She and her husband David lived in Nebraska.¹ They had the following known children: Charles Franklin (b 29 August 1876), Harvey Allen (b 15 March 1878, d 10 April 1971), Jesse Asa (b 25 August 1880, d 2 March 1914), John Henry (b 29 April 1883), William Arthur (b 22 September 1885, d 24 September 1885), Edith Emma (b 14 October 1887, d 11 March 1922), David Raymond (b 2 March 1890, d 2 September 1970), Roy Daniel (b 15 May 1892, d 15 March 1966), Mary Esther (b 1 January 1895), Nellie Wilhelmina (b 26 February 1897), Helen Eva Ruth (b 28 November 1900, d September 1970).^1,2

     Sarah M. Hauver was born in July 1859 in North Manchester, Wabash Co., Indiana.¹ She married John S. Kuns, son of Henry L. Kuns and Caroline Spidel, on 22 March 1872.¹ She died about 1936.¹ She was buried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.¹
     She and her husband John lived in Cerro Gordo, Piatt Co., Illinois.¹ By 1898 they had moved to Lordsburg (now LaVerne), Los Angeles Co., California.¹ They moved to Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, about 1910.¹ She and John had six children, but names are known for only four: Henry F. (b 22 March 1874, d 5 sep 1874), Dora (b abt 1876), Jesse (b abt 1878), Raymon (b 25 April 1881, d 10 September 1881).¹

     George W. Tracy married Barbara Kuns, daughter of Henry L. Kuns and Caroline Spidel.¹
     He and his wife Barbara lived in Christian Co., Illinois.¹ They had two known children, Harry and Urban.²

     Ella E. Class was born on 16 April 1862 in Monticello, Piatt Co., Illinois.¹ She married Noah Kuns, son of Henry L. Kuns and Caroline Spidel, on 22 February 1883.¹ She died on 10 June 1933 in McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas, at age 71.¹ She was buried in McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas.¹
     She and her husband Noah moved to McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas, in 1892.¹ They had the following known children: Ernest E. (b February 1884), Frank B.      Elizabeth Wagoner was born on 20 July 1798 in Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania.¹ She married Leonard Wolf Jr., son of Leonard Wolf and Catharine Cripe, on 2 June 1816 in Montgomery Co., Ohio.¹ She died on 31 August 1874 in Piatt or Macon Co., Illinois, at age 76.¹ She was buried at East Frantz Cemetery in Unity Twp., Piatt Co., Illinois.¹
     She also went by the nickname "Betsy."² In the fall of 1835, she and her husband Leonard moved to Clinton Co., Indiana, settling near Edna Mills.² After her husband's death in 1853, she lived with her daughter Barbara Wagoner, and later moved to Piatt or Macon Co., Illinois.²

     Leonard W. Kuns was born on 22 November 1848 in Carroll Co., Indiana.² He married first Catharine Oaks.² He married second Catharine Metzger, daughter of Jacob Metzger and Margaret (?), on 15 October 1893.³ He died on 27 February 1913 in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., California, at age 64.²
     He and his second wife Catharine moved to near Rolette, Rolette Co., North Dakota, in 1898.³ They moved again, in 1909, to Whittier, Los Angeles Co., California.³ They were members of the Old German Baptist Church in Whittier.³

     Hannah Kuns was born on 27 March 1852 in Carroll Co., Indiana.² She married Jacob Oaks, son of Daniel Oaks and Lydia Kuns, on 24 December 1871 in Piatt Co., Illinois.² She died on 10 November 1896 in Piatt Co., Illinois, at age 44.² She was buried at East Frantz Cemetery in Unity Twp., Piatt Co., Illinois.²

     Leah Kuns was born on 18 March 1854.¹ She died on 23 May 1855 in Clinton Co., Indiana, at age 1.¹ She was buried at Pleasant View Cemetery.¹

     Lovina Kuns was born on 15 January 1859 in Piatt Co., Illinois.² She married William S. Hoots, son of Solomon Hoots and Nancy Jane (?), on 22 June 1878 in Piatt Co., Illinois.² She died on 12 January 1908 in Piatt Co., Illinois, at age 48.² She was buried at East Frantz Cemetery in Unity Twp., Piatt Co., Illinois.²

     Barbara Kuns was born on 15 November 1861.¹ She died on 2 December 1866 in Piatt Co., Illinois, at age 5.¹

     Jacob W. Kuns was born on 4 March 1863 (the 1900 census says March 1864) in Piatt Co., Illinois.^2,3 He married Area Ada Bowen, daughter of Daniel Bowen and Evaline Wells, in 1887.^2,4 He died on 3 April 1927 in Flora, Carroll Co., Indiana, at age 64.² He was buried at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Carroll Co., Indiana.²
     He and his wife Area were living with their son Elmer in Willow Branch Twp., Piatt Co., Illinois, in 1900.⁴

     Sanford Kuns was born on 26 August 1868 in Piatt Co., Illinois.³ He married Sarah Elizabeth Flora, daughter of David Flora and Mary Moss, on 1 January 1890 in Carroll Co., Indiana.³ He died on 24 November 1936 in Flora, Carroll Co., Indiana, at age 68.³ He was buried at Moss Cemetery in Carroll Co., Indiana.³
     He and his wife Sarah moved to Carroll Co., Indiana, near Flora, about 1904.⁴
