He and his wife Hannah moved to LaPlace, Piatt Co., Illinois, in 1861, the first of the family to do so. They settled on a half-section of land about a mile east of the town.2 They donated three acres of their land to the Brethren Church.2

In 1863, after both of her parents had died, she and her husband Andrew were named guardians of her 13-year-old brother Eli F. Wolfe. He lived with them in Missouri for about two years.3
In 1869 she and Andrew moved to Marion Co., Illinois, settling near Salem.2 In 1884 her family moved to Cherokee Co., Kansas.2 Then, in 1894, they moved to Ramsey, Ramsey Co., North Dakota, where they settled on a 160-acre homestead.2 They moved back to Kansas in 1904.2
She and Andrew had the following known children: Levi D. (28 January 1862, d 23 August 1923), Daniel P. (b 20 January 1865, d 26 April 1948), David D. (b 8 March 1878).4

Starting about 1863, Leonard and his brothers Jacob and Eli began spelling their last name as "Wolfe."1 He and his wife Anna moved to Marion Co., Illinois, about 1875.1 Later, in 1883, they moved to Cherokee Co., Kansas.1 On Easter Sunday of 1882 he was chosen minister of the Romine Church of the Brethren.1
After his wife's death in 1913, he lived with his sister Elizabeth Neher in McCune, Crawford Co., Kansas, until she died in 1921.1 He then lived with his daughter Mary's family until his death in 1924.1 His last request before his death was for his family to sing hymns around his bed.1

Starting about 1863, Eli and his brothers Leonard and Jacob began spelling their last name as "Wolfe."3 He was known as "Red Eli" because he had a red beard, and also to distinguish him from his cousin Eli, who had a black beard and was known as "Black Eli." He may have added his middle initial of "F" to also distinguish him from his cousin.4
After his father's and mother's deaths in August 1862 and February 1863, his sister Elizabeth and her husband Andrew Neher were named as his guardians. He lived with them in Missouri for about two years.1 About 1865 he moved to Piatt Co., Illinois, where he lived with his aunt and uncle (and future wife's parents) Jacob and Hannah (Shively) Wolf.1
After his wife Catharine's mother died in 1887, he and Catharine became guardians of Catharine's 17-year-old brother Jacob George Wolf.5
He and Catharine had the following known children: Amos M. She and her husband John lived in Marion Co., Illinois, and later moved to Yamhill Co., Oregon.2 They had at least four children, but names are known for only three: Florence (b abt 1874), Edward (b abt 1878), Charles.2

In 1863, after both of her parents had died, he and his wife Elizabeth were named guardians of her 13-year-old brother Eli F. Wolfe. He lived with them in Missouri for about two years.2
In 1869 he and Elizabeth moved to Marion Co., Illinois, settling near Salem.1 In October 1869 he was chosen as minister of the Romine Church, in the Church of the Brethren.1 In 1884 his family moved to Cherokee Co., Kansas.1 Then, in 1894, they moved to Ramsey, Ramsey Co., North Dakota, where they settled on a 160-acre homestead.1 They moved back to Kansas in 1904.1
He and Elizabeth had the following known children: Levi D. (28 January 1862, d 23 August 1923), Daniel P. (b 20 January 1865, d 26 April 1948), David D. (b 8 March 1878).3
