He moved to California with his parents in 1885.2 He settled in what was then Tropico, California, near Glendale in Los Angeles Co.2 He and his wife Clara moved to Pomona, Los Angeles Co., California, in 1909.2 He served as a deacon in the Church of the Brethren for 35 years.2 He suffered with diabetes, and had to have his foot amputated due to infection about a month before his death.2 He and Clara had one known child, Ray.2

She and her husband John moved to California in 1885.1 From there they moved to Warrensburg, Johnson Co., Missouri, in 1896.1 In 1902 they moved again, this time to Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., Kansas.1
