The online picture of the cemetery marker is low-resolution and difficult to read, but clearly shows John Sowle's name and birth/death years. It also includes "Sarah His Wife," but the birth date is unreadable, and the death date is missing. (She moved to Denver, Colorado, after her husband's death, and is buried there.) The marker also includes "Nina 1869-1870."

His death certificate lists him as being divorced, and his wife's name as Lyde. If this is correct, he must have married a second time, at age 76+, after his wife Lora's death in 1931, then quickly divorced. No record has been found for a second marriage, however.3
