     Ida Ann Youngs was born on 25 June 1857 (the 1900 census says June 1856) in Jackson Co., Michigan.^1,3,5,4,6 She married Charles Lohr, son of Philip Lohr and Mary Bash, on 2 July 1876 in Tekonsha, Calhoun Co., Michigan.^5,1 She died on 3 September 1916 in Petoskey, Emmet Co., Michigan, at age 59 of a cerebral hemorrage, with ateriosclerosis as a contributing factor.¹ She was buried on 6 September 1916 in Albion, Calhoun Co., Michigan.¹
     After their marriage, she and her husband Charles lived near her parents in Tekonsha Twp., Calhoun Co., Michigan.⁷ She lived in Albion, Calhoun Co., Michigan, from at least 1900 to 1905. In 1900 her daughter Norah was living with her, as was a boarder named Mable Combs.^6,2 In 1910 she was living with her daughter Norah's family in Petoskey, Emmet Co., Michigan.⁸
     She and Charles had two children, an unnamed son (stillborn 28 December 1879), and Norah E. (b 7 December 1880, d 9 May 1958).^9,10,6,11

     Elizabeth Youngs was born in August 1859 (the 1900 census says August 1857, but her age is listed as 11/12 in the 1860 census, enumerated on 28 July 1860) in Michigan.^4,3,5 She married Arba D. Blind, son of Jacob Blind and Catherine Washburn, on 26 November 1890 in Tekonsha, Calhoun Co., Michigan.^6,2 She died before 26 November 1942.⁷
     She was known by the nickname "Bitha."² In 1900 she and her husband Arba were living in Tekonsha Twp., Calhoun Co., Michigan. Her widowed mother Elizabeth was living with them.⁵ They apparently moved soon afterwards to Coldwater, Branch Co., Michigan, where Elizabeth's mother was living with them at the time of her death in 1905², and where they were listed in the censuses from 1910 to 1930.^8,9,10,11
     She and Arba had three children, Gladys J. (b 14 August 1891, d 17 September 1959), and twins Elma E. and Azelma A. (b 19 April 1893), all born in Tekonsha Twp., Calhoun Co., Michigan.^12,13,11,5

     Jacob C. Swikert was born on 5 August 1834 in Clinton, Stark Co. (now Summit Co.), Ohio.^3,4,5,6,7,8 He married Susanah Adeline Havens, daughter of George Thurston Havens and Mary Ann Keith, on 15 September 1863 in Sherwood, Branch Co., Michigan.^9,3 He died on 19 September 1909 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon, at age 75.^10,3 He was buried at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.¹¹
     In 1860 Jacob C. Swikert was a farmer in Sherwood, Branch Co., Michigan.⁶
     During the Civil War, he served in Company A, 13th. Michigan Infantry. He enlisted at Otsego on 1 August 1864 for three years, and was mustered in the next day. He was discharged at Washington, D.C., on 7 June 1865. On 12 June 1890 he applied for an invalid's pension (Appl. #781394, Cert. #535999), and on 18 October 1909 his widow Susannah applied for a widow's pension (Appl. #928934, Cert. #693690).^12,13
     He and his wife Susanah are listed in the census of 1870 in Sherwood, Branch Co., Michigan. Also listed is their son Charles, age 10/12, and Louisa Swikert, age 3, born in Michigan. This is probably their daughter Maryetta, but it's not clear why the name is different.⁴ In 1880 they were living in Columbia Co., Washington, with their children Maryetta, Alta, Norman and Oscar.¹⁴ They moved to Oregon sometime between 1887 and 1890^15,12, and on 9 December 1892 he was issued a land patent from the government for 160 acres he had purchased in Union Co., Oregon.¹⁶ They are listed in North Elgin, Union Co., in the 1900 census.⁸

     Susanah Adeline Havens was born in January 1846 in Michigan.^4,2 She married first Harry N. Hamilton on 1 May 1861 in Matteson, Branch Co., Michigan.⁵ They must have divorced before 15 September 1863, since Harry was still living at the time of Susanah's marriage to Jacob Swikert.^6,7 She married second Jacob C. Swikert, son of John W. Swikert and Ann Sophia (?), on 15 September 1863 in Sherwood, Branch Co., Michigan.^7,3 She died in 1912.² She was buried at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.²
     She and her husband Jacob are listed in the census of 1870 in Sherwood, Branch Co., Michigan. Also listed is their son Charles, age 10/12, and Louisa Swikert, age 3, born in Michigan.      Sophia A. Swikert was born on 9 March 1840 in Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio.^3,1 She married Martin Sperry, son of Jarvis Sperry and Sally Smith, on 1 July 1855 in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan.^4,5,3 She died on 3 March 1911 at her daughter Lora's home in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, at age 70 from Bright's Disease (i.e., kidney disease), with pneumonia as a contributing factor.^1,3 She was buried on 5 March 1911 at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan.^6,1,3
     She is listed with her parents in Norton Twp., Summit Co., Ohio, in the 1850 census², and came with them to Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan, about 1852 or 1853.^7,3
     Immediately after their marriage she and her husband Martin initially lived on a farm near Otsego.⁴ They soon moved to Iowa, where they stayed 3-4 years^4,3 before returning to Allegan Co.^4,3 They lived for a time on a farm just west of Otsego, then returned to the same farm where they lived after their marriage, and where they would remain the rest of their lives.^4,3
     They are listed in Otsego in the 1860 census, and living with them were Ramsom Sperry, age 30, and Earlie Sperry, age 24.⁸ They are listed in Otsego Twp. in the censuses from 1870 to 1910. In 1900 a niece, Lizzie Veley, age 17, was living with them, and in 1910 they had a boarder, Ruth Tubbs, age 18.^9,10,5,11
     On 17 October 1870 she and Martin sold 4 1/2 acres of land in Allegan Co., Michigan, to her uncle Jesse Swikert for $400. The land was described as "commencing at the northwest corner of land owned by William Monteith amd being about the center of the west half of the southwest quarter of Section twenty two (22) in Town one north of Range twelve (12) west thence west (18) eighteen rods thence south forty rods thence east (18) eighteen rods thence north over Monteith's west line (40) forty rods to the place of beginning."¹²
     On 22 August 1887 they bought 37 1/2 acres of land in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, from her father George Swikert for $1.00 and "my [her father's] maintenence during life." Her mother Margaret had died just five days earlier, and is not named in the deed, so it seems likely that her father lived with them after this point.^13,14
     On 18 May 1910 she and Martin were involved in an accident while returning to their farm after a trip to town, when the horse pulling their buggy was frightened by a car and ran into a ditch. Sophia suffered several bruises, and the buggy was badly damaged.¹⁵

     Martin Sperry was born on 14 February 1834 in Dover, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio.^1,3 He married Sophia A. Swikert, daughter of George E. Swikert and Margaret Pomroy, on 1 July 1855 in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan.^1,4,5 He died on 20 November 1913 in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan, at age 79.³ He was buried on 22 November 1913 at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan.^6,3
     He came to Michigan with his brother Henry in 1853, taking three weeks by ox team, and settled in Allegan Co. near Otsego.¹
     Immediately after their marriage he and his wife Sophia initially lived on a farm near Otsego.¹ They soon moved to Iowa, where they stayed 3-4 years^1,5 before returning to Allegan Co.^1,5 They lived for a time on a farm just west of Otsego, then returned to the same farm where they lived after their marriage, and where they would remain the rest of their lives.^1,5

     During his early years in Otsego he was in the grocery business, and started the first delivery service in town. He also worked for 13 years as a salesman at the N. W. Mills hardware store.¹¹ With the exception of 1880, when he was listed as a store clerk, in the censuses his occupation was listed as farmer.^8,9,4,10
     On 17 October 1870 he and Sophia sold 4 1/2 acres of land in Allegan Co., Michigan, to Sophia's uncle Jesse Swikert for $400.      Cora Adell Sperry was born on 24 April 1867 in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan.^3,4 She was married by John Fletcher, Minister, to Henry Christian Derhammer on 2 September 1884 in Plainwell, Allegan Co., Michigan.^5,6 She died on 19 January 1923 in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan, at age 55 from hyperthroidism, with kidney disease as a contributing factor.⁷
     She and her husband Henry are listed in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, in the 1900 and 1910 censuses.^4,8 By 1920 they had moved to the city of Otsego.⁹

     Henry Christian Derhammer was born in April 1864 in Ohio.² He was married by John Fletcher, Minister, to Cora Adell Sperry, daughter of Martin Sperry and Sophia A. Swikert, on 2 September 1884 in Plainwell, Allegan Co., Michigan.^4,3
     He and his wife Cora are listed in Otsego Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan, in the 1900 and 1910 censuses.^2,5 He was a cigar maker in 1889, ran a plaining mill in 1900, and was working as a plumber in 1910.^6,2,5 By 1920 they had moved to the city of Otsego⁷ where he owned a grocery store.⁷ In 1930, after his wife's death, he was living with his daughter Lida's family in Plainwell, Allegan Co., Michigan.⁸

     Elinora J. Swikert was born on 7 July 1864 in Michigan.² She died on 1 January 1872 at age 7. (However, she is not listed with her parents in the 1870 census, indicating that the death date of 1872 may be wrong).^2,3

     Maryetta E. Swikert was born on 8 August 1866 in Michigan.² She married, probably first, Charles Myers about 1883 in Asotin, Asotin Co., Washington.² She married, possibly second, Frank E. Boland about 1893.^3,2 She married, possibly third, William E. Ott about 1908.^4,2 She married, possibly fourth, Loriston Powers.² She married, probably fifth, Francis Marion Hodges before 1920.^2,5 She died on 20 March 1948 in Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho, at age 81.^6,2 She was buried at Moscow Cemetery in Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho.^7,2
     She and her husband Frank E. Boland were living in North Elgin, Union Co., Oregon, in 1900, with their son Walter, and Maryetta's son Charles Myers from her first marriage.³ She and her husband William E. Ott were living in Baker, Baker Co., Oregon, in 1910, with Maryetta's son Walter Boland from her previous marriage.⁴ In 1920 she and her husband Francis Marion Hodges were living in North Bend, Coos Co., Oregon.⁸ By 1930 they had moved to Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho. Maryetta's brother Jacob was living with them, as was a lodger, Earl Danielson.⁹

     Loriston Powers married Maryetta E. Swikert, daughter of Jacob C. Swikert and Susanah Adeline Havens.²

     Charles Myers married Maryetta E. Swikert, daughter of Jacob C. Swikert and Susanah Adeline Havens, about 1883 in Asotin, Asotin Co., Washington.²

     Frank E. Boland was born in April 1863 in New York.¹ He married Maryetta E. Swikert, daughter of Jacob C. Swikert and Susanah Adeline Havens, about 1893.^1,2
     He and his wife Maryetta were living in North Elgin, Union Co., Oregon, in 1900, with their son Walter, and Maryetta's son Charles Myers from her first marriage.¹

     Francis Marion Hodges was born on 16 September 1866.¹ He married Maryetta E. Swikert, daughter of Jacob C. Swikert and Susanah Adeline Havens, before 1920.^2,3 He died on 26 March 1945 in Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho, at age 78.¹ He was buried at Moscow Cemetery in Latah Co., Idaho.⁴
     In 1920 he and his wife Maryetta were living in North Bend, Coos Co., Oregon.⁵ By 1930 they had moved to Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho. Maryetta's brother Jacob was living with them, as was a lodger, Earl Danielson.⁶

     Charles Albert Myers was born on 13 December 1883 (the 1900 census says December 1882) in Asotin, Asotin Co., Washington.^1,2

     Walter C. Boland was born in April 1897 in Washington.¹

     Charles H. Swikert was born on 1 September 1869 in Michigan.^2,3 He died sometime before 1873 in Washington.³

     Alta Elizabeth Swikert was born on 24 June 1876 (the Jacob Swikert genealogy says 24 June 1874) in Bellwood, Butler Co., Nebraska.^1,3 She married first Robert Franklin Lewis, son of Robert Lewis Jr. and Susan Maria Sargent, on 27 June 1890 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.³ She married second James Alexander Anderson on 17 January 1917 in Wallowa Co., Oregon.^4,3 She married third William Ross on 4 June 1930 in Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho.^5,1,3 She died on 23 May 1936 in Helmer, Latah Co., Idaho, at age 59 from heart failure.^1,3 She was buried on 27 May 1936 at Pinecrest Cemetery in Deary, Latah Co., Idaho.^3,1
     She and her first husband Robert were living in Antelope, Union Co., Oregon, in 1900.⁶ In 1910 they were in North Elgin, Union Co., Oregon, and Alta's widowed mother Susanna was living with them.⁷
     She and Robert bought at least four tracts of land in Oregon from the federal government. On 9 April 1901 Robert was issued a land patent for 160 acres he had purchased in Union Co.⁸, and a little over a year later, on 3 July 1902, he was issued a patent for 160 additional acres in Union Co.⁹ On the same day, 3 July 1902, Alta was issued a patent for a separate tract of 160 acres in Union Co.¹⁰ A month later, on 20 August 1902, Robert was issued a patent for 160 acres he had purchased in Jackson Co., in the southeast part of the state.¹¹
     On 27 February 1925, after her marriage to her second husband James Anderson, she was issued a patent for 320 acres she had purchased in Wallowa Co., Oregon.¹²
     She was living with her daughter Susie's family in Union, Union Co., Oregon, in 1930.¹³

     Robert Franklin Lewis was born on 6 April 1850 in Lynn, Essex Co., Massachusetts.² He married Alta Elizabeth Swikert, daughter of Jacob C. Swikert and Susanah Adeline Havens, on 27 June 1890 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.³ He died on 6 January 1916 in Wallowa Co., Oregon, at age 65 from kidney disease.⁴ He was buried on 8 January 1916 at Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise, Wallowa Co., Oregon.^4,5
     He and his wife Alta were living in Antelope, Union Co., Oregon, in 1900.⁶ In 1910 they were in North Elgin, Union Co., Oregon, and Alta's widowed mother Susanna was living with them.⁷ His occupation is listed as farmer in the 1900 and 1910 censuses, and painter on his death certificate.^6,7,4

     Jessie Lewis was born on 22 January 1890 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.² He died on 22 May 1890 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.²

     Susan Augusta Lewis was born on 19 July 1892 in Elgin, Union Co., Oregon.^2,3 She married first John Klein on 20 August 1914 in Enterprise, Wallowa Co., Oregon.³ She married second Clarence William Jensen on 15 June 1946 in Seattle, King Co., Washington.³ She died on 7 August 1968 in Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co., Washington, at age 76.³ She was buried at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co., Washington.³

     John Klein married Susan Augusta Lewis, daughter of Robert Franklin Lewis and Alta Elizabeth Swikert, on 20 August 1914 in Enterprise, Wallowa Co., Oregon.²
