     Mary Florence Dornan was born about 1889 in Glenn, Allegan Co., Michigan.2,1 She and Joseph Connolly Murphy, son of Michael Joseph Murphy and Mary Agnes MacNamara, originally obtained a marriage license on 12 July 1917, probably in Ingham Co., Michigan. They apparently didn't marry at that time, possibly because of Joseph's service during World War I.2 They were finally married by B. L. Bergstrom on 16 July 1919 in Allegan, Allegan Co., Michigan. The witnesses were the bride's sister Minnie and brother Elmer.1

     Noah C. Barden was born on 13 December 1868 in Ganges, Allegan Co., Michigan.2,1 He was married by James F. Taylor to Minnie Dornan, daughter of Marcus W. Dornan and Margaret Lackey, on 6 January 1895 in Douglas, Allegan Co., Michigan.1 He was murdered in the early morning hours of 8 November 1901 (his cemetery marker says 7 November 1901) by his cousin Pearl Starkey. Starkey had gone to Barden's house in Ganges, Allegan Co., Michigan, around midnight, called out to him, and shot him through a window with a shotgun. Starkey also tried to shoot Barden's wife Minnie (Dornan), but she escaped through another window and ran to her father's house nearby. Starkey then set fire to the Barden house, and killed himself. Starkey had worked for Barden over the summer and had been discharged shortly before the shooting.3,2 He was buried at Taylor Cemetery in Allegan Co., Michigan.2

     Joseph Connolly Murphy was born about 1888 in New York.1 He and Mary Florence Dornan, daughter of Marcus W. Dornan and Margaret Lackey, originally obtained a marriage license on 12 July 1917, probably in Ingham Co., Michigan. They apparently didn't marry at that time, possibly because of Joseph's service during World War I.2 They were finally married by B. L. Bergstrom on 16 July 1919 in Allegan, Allegan Co., Michigan. The witnesses were the bride's sister Minnie and brother Elmer.1
     He served in the armed forces during World War I.1 He was a photo engraver.2,1
     When he and Mary Florence Dornan originally received a marriage license in 1917, he is listed in the record book as not having been previously married. However, when they actually married in 1919, he is listed as having been married once previously.2,1
