Victoria E. Creager was born on 19 October 1854 (based on a death date of 25 October 1865 and age at death of 11 years, 6 days) in Indiana.2,3,4 She died on 25 October 1865 at age 11.2,3 She was buried at Cleveland Cemetery in Whitley Co., Indiana.3
The transcription of her cemetery marker in Miscellaneous Whitley County, Indiana, Cemetery Inscriptions says she was the "dau of P & M Greager Died Oct. 25, 1863 aged 11yr 6 da." That would make her birth date 19 October 1852. Her cemetery marker is worn and difficult to read, especially from its photograph, but her death year looks more like 1865 than 1863. That would make her birth date 19 October 1854, which is consistent with her age of 5 in the 1860 census, and with Peter Creager and Melissa Williamson's marriage date of 1 January 1854.3,2,4,5

Robert H. Dornan was born on 15 April 1854 in Michigan.1,3,4,5,6 He married Mary Evaline Sickafoose, daughter of John Sickafoose Jr and Emily Hamilton, on 1 October 1880 in Whitley Co., Indiana.7,1,8 He died in 1948 (the History of Western Allegan County says 1942).5,1 He was buried at Plummerville Cemetery in Allegan Co., Michigan.5
He is listed as single in the 1880 census in Ganges Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan. His occupation was farmer. Living in the same household were his brother and sister-in-law Mark and Margaret Dornan, and their daughter Minnie (age 6).4 From 1900 to 1930, at least, he was a fruit farmer in Ganges Twp., Allegan Co., Michigan.3,9,10,11
It's unknown for sure how he and his wife Mary met. He was born and raised in Michigan, and she was born and raised in Indiana. They married in Whitley Co., Indiana, but there's no record of Robert living there. In 1880, the year that they were married, Robert was living in Allegan Co., Michigan, and Mary was living in Whitley Co., Indiana. Mary may have traveled to Allegan Co. to visit her aunt Jane (Hamilton) Williamson, who had moved there with her husband Beniah from Whitley Co. in 1877, and met Robert then.7,12,4,13

  8. [S3346] The identification of Robert Dornan as the husband of Mary Sickafoose, daughter of John and Emily (Hamilton) Sickafoose, is a bit complex. In the on-line Whitley Co. marriage records there are three marriage records with dates such that the bride could be the daughter of John and Emily (Hamilton) Sickafoose: Mary G. Sicafoose married George Farmer on 19 March 1876, Mary E. Sickafoose married William H. Hissem on 27 September 1877, and Mary E. Sickafoose married Robert H. Dorman (sic) on 1 October 1880. Further, there are four women in the census records named Mary Sickafoose that are near the right age to be among these three brides, and three of these four were born about 1859. The identification of John and Emily (Hamilton) Sickafoose's daughter Mary as the wife of Robert Dornan was determined by comparing the birth states listed in the census records for the three married Marys (i.e., Mary Farmer, Mary Hissem, and Mary Dornan) with the birth states for the parents of the four candidate women in the census records. Although there are some inconsistencies, the birth states of Ohio and New York for John and Emily (Hamilton) Sickafoose in the 1860-1880 censuses match up best with those listed for the parents of Mary (Sickafoose) Dornan in the 1900-1930 censuses.
