     John Lee McRath was born on 5 May 1833 in Canada, in Ontario according to the 1880 census, and in New Brunswick according to his death certificate.4,5,3 He married Juliette Phillips, daughter of Luke P. Phillips and Patience Simmons, on 31 March 1873 in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan. The witnesses were the bride's sister Emily and her husband William Ernsberger.1,2 He died on 19 March 1908 in Pontiac Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan, at age 74 from heart disease.3 He was buried on 21 March 1908 at Oak Hill Cemetery (plot 7-148) in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.3,6
     He immigrated to the United States in 1837, and became a naturalized citizen.4 He and his wife Juliette were living in Pontiac Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan, in 1880.5 He continued to live there after Juliette's death. Living with him in 1900, working as a servant, was Laura Morley, along with her four-year-old son Frank.4

     E. R. McNutt was born in 1834 in Ohio.1,4 He married Lydia Ann Woodin, daughter of Federal W. Woodin and Maria Brazee, about 1857 (based on the bride's age of 20 at her marriage).3 He died in 1893.4 He was buried at Highland View Cemetery in Mecosta Co., Michigan.4
